Hello!

With some frends (old and a bit rusty gamers), we plan to have a few games in very relaxed environment involving excessive nicotine breaks, alcohol (berhammer maybe?), seared meat and some Warhammer 40k battles.

I wonder if you could find some time and analyse this list with me.

Bit of helpful information:
- games are at 1500 (+- cheapest model value)
- no allies
- no flyers
- 2HQ named characters required
- opponents: Ultramarines, Necrons and Tau
- 4 standard GW tiles as a battleground (+ standard pieces of GW terrain)

Table info:
- numbers at the top represent: list number, overall wounds and all army value.
- gray coloured cells represent cybork body upgrade and beneficients.
- right column in each list: number of units named in the left column.
- Nobs and Warbike Nobs are with standard equipment.

These list look quite similar, but that is what I have available at the moment.
My question is: which list do you think I should take? 1, 2, 3 or 4? Or none? Could you present any viable alternatives?

Thank you for your time!

Cheers

Topeka, KS

I like list 4. More wounds means more chances at saves, and more times they have to roll.

Is there a way you could get 4 bikes into the fourth list? I really like the 8 loota units in the fourth list, but I like the bike units too.

Oh god, jealousy levels approaching 40,000

If you want to make it efficient, I wouldn't bother with cybork on anything but the bikers. Since your facing Tau and 'crons, you might want to make it as efficient as possible...

Dis filfy git wantz ta know?

Im agreeing with the first poster and dakkamite
The 4th list looks very good but the cyborks n dok seems not needed. Thats a good 400pts your saving and can be used for more of anything! Now idk if you have to have dok but thats my opinion commin from a semi competitive player!
Btw you seem to be playing this game right! The more booze you drink and the longer your neck beard is sure can be intimidating

Thank you for your input.

We have decided to allow ADL (placed after terrain ).

So my list looks like that now:

Grotsnik
18x Shoota Boy
Nob
Battlewagon

Zogwort
23x Shoota Boy
Nob

2x
8x Loota

2x
Lobba

2x
Warbiker Nob
4x Warbiker Boy

ADL (no guns).

Full cost: 1504

Some additional comments to your comments:

I don't have additional Battlewagon (I will fix it in the future )
Loosing cybork from boys - great tip - they have FNP from Grotsnik I didn't think about...
Yes - I am totally at the bottom of semi-competitivness

I have read about two things I am not sure:
- going to ground with Lootas, behind ADL - is that really 2+ cover?
- apparently you can "snipe" with Lobbas, when you place central point of marker over specific model (and pray for no scatter...) is that true?

Thank you
Cheers

Yes and yes.

ADL gives +2 to cover if you go to ground, not +1. So does area terrain if you didn't know that.

Barrage weapons remove casualties from the centre. So if you drop a blast on a character and hit him + 4 dudes, thats 5 wounds on the character though he can Look Out Sir! them away and such

I hope for your sake that the other guys are being as inefficient with the characters as possible. Zog and Grotsnik are crazy fun, but they're not powerful choices. Maybe Zogwart in this particular game though. As long as the other guys bring lists of the same level it'll be great for everyone. The Necrons in particular get horrific characters I know that much.

For your list, I recommend taking three units of Lootas (5, 5, 6) as opposed to two (8 each). Being able to target multiple units, rolling more dice for # of shots, and the chance of being overkilled or missed by blasts makes three small units more efficient than two medium ones.

Not sure if its possible but if you can cybork the Biker Nob Leaders only and not the bikers I'd definitely do that. Otherwise the bikes are something that can be worth putting it on if you think they're going to get into Close Combat (or when you face Tau)

Orkimedezz - I thought it is only for Ork mobs with more than 11 bodies... I have to check it out.

Could anyone confirm, if you know it from top of your wise hat? (Page number or FAQ number will work fine...)
All my stuff is somewhere else...

Thank you
Cheers.

yup mob rule says if you are 11men or over you are fearless.
so never go over squads of 10lootas so you can GTG and get a 2+ cover save. but you have to snapfire after you GTG so shooting at flyers with that squad is your best bet. (ik you said no flyer) but this is future reference^^
EDIT: no need for a FAQ cus its the rules lol. ^^

OOOOOOOkay Everything is ok

I was worried for a second that something changed.

I was aware of this - but somehow my brain processed your info in some strange way. I thought that Lootas are fearless regardless of model count. Then red light started flashing...

Good. Thanks
