I have a local tournament coming up soon and after discovering it is 1850 rather than 1750 like it usually is I find myself in need of a list to run. I had a 1750 planned out but the extra 100pts threw me into a frenzy . So have made these 2 lists and will probably run one of them or a variation of it.

So I would like the opinions from those in the community as to the pros and cons of each list and what you would do to improve upon them. I have a few ideas of the cons and areas in which the lists struggle in my head and would like to compare them to others peoples ideas.

So the Wraithguard are something new to my lists and have not used them previously. I have access to the majority of units in the codex through my own collection and that of a friends who is willing to lend me models. Neither of us own a Wraithknight and the only way one would make it into the list is if I run 0-1 units of Wraithguard as I would forgo the purchase of the second until for that of the Wraithkight, although I am not sure it is really necessary.

I do have a Crimson Hunter and although I have not used it extensively in the short time I have used it it has done ok.

Thanks for taking the time to read. All replies are appreciated.

Thanks

I dont have a book for clarifications so...Are you allowed 2 remanents of glory?

I like list 2 however exchanging farseer for autarch. thats just personal choice nothing wrong with autarch.

Yes, you're allowed 2 Remnants of Glory. You just aren't allowed multiple of the same one in an army.

In list 1, I'd replace the Guardians with Dire Avengers to save 25 points per squad and drop the Phoenix Gem, to buy a squad of Warp Spiders or Jetbikes. I really like them for harassment and for late game objective stealing/contesting.

In list 2, I'd have one Wraith squad drop the d-scythes and swap guardians for DA to do the same.

I love Spiders. They really make up their points well.

I'm tired of these monkey loving snakes on this monday to friday plane!

Thanks TV editors.

I'd rather keep the guardians due to the extra shots they put out over the dire avengers. My first 1850 list did have x5 man squads of Avengers and a x5 squad of Warp Spiders but I just dont think those 5 spiders outweigh the benefits of taking Guardians over Dire Avenegrs.

As for the Phoenix Gem it is only there because I had the points spare

Thanks for the response.

Well, not my picks. I'd always take Wraithguard with Dscythes and Warwalkers with dual scatter lasers.

The Mantle may interact weirdly with the Jetbike. I can't say specifically because I don't have the rules in front of me, but do remember jetbikes can't Run.

Otherwise... I dunno, I can't argue too hard with it's effectiveness. I just generally dislike sinking all my eggs in 1 basket. So, I guess i'd lean to list 2, for having more anti-heavy. The flexibility of the fire prism doesn't seem as critical with wave serpent spam.

Normally I would try to give them D-scythes but I found myself in want of more AT and so I took them stock instead. As for Warwalkers, in 6th always run them with bright lances. I just don't think my lists need the extra Str 6 and am yet to run into problems as of yet due to lack of it.

The Mantle doesn't affect running afaik. So there isn't any problem there. It's used more due to the major survive ability boost it gives when coupled with the Jetbike. Stealth and Shrouded as well as Jink gives me a 2+ save which can be re-rolled, he doesn't die easily.

I have been thinking of merging them slightly by, in List 1, dropping the Phoenix Gem on The Farseer or by swapping him with the Autarch and then making one of the Guardian Squads ino Dire Avengers. This will give me the points spare to give one of the Wraithguard groups D-Scythes.

Thoughts?

I also have been informed by my friend that he has 3 Warwalkers of his own, for a total of 6 at my disposal, which opens up a word of new ideas for me to explore. Lists I have said I would run in the past if I had 3 more Warwakers. Which I can now use. So I will be making some more lists soon.

Thanks to all of the replies so far.
