And you are ignoring that Portugal was not in a comparable situation to what the US has. Thus saying that was works for Portugal will for the US is a logical fallacy.

Its like saying "Well I poured water on this wood fire over here and it went out, it should work for this grease fire."


Maybe it would work, but I am skeptical of that claim and I dismiss the evidence you have put forth because the examples lack equivalency. We have massive organized crime involved with the Drug Trade. They aren't going to stop what they are doing because one of the, many many, drugs they smuggle is legalized.

Have you ever had a discussion with someone who thought they knew what they were talking about but you could tell they had only some of the facts and they didn't actually know what they were talking about? That is the frustration I am feeling now.

You keep asserting your opinion without supporting data then say all data refuting your viewpoint is illegitimate. Yet its obvious you haven’t read the refuting data because your statements about said data are wrong. If you don’t know the details of the reference material you can't then say those details are wrong. Europe has a significant drug problem it's not apples to oranges. Is the situation exactly the same there as here? Of course it isn’t however the measures taken to reduce violence, court overcrowding, overdose, drug related non-violent crime and addiction rates are laid out in a clear cause effect pattern that at least deserves scrutiny. If you think drugs should be illegal that’s a valid standpoint, support it. Sitting here saying "I'm right and your wrong, so there" isn’t a valid argument.

Are you of the opinion that only the US has gang related violence that revolves around the drug trade, or that it is somehow a special or unique problem? That is not the case.

The original suggestion put forwards was the legalization of all drugs, period. I support this move. Our nations need no laws governing our own bodies.
