A bit off topic, but are you (or know of) a youngun who wants to attend a tourney, but are intimidated and think you'll get stomped?
Well, lemme assure you, you probably will. I'm older than most dudes at the RTTs. I'm in my mid 40s. However, I've seen a well ruled 10 year make veterans sweat and struggle to get wins. That kid did it for 2 or 3 years.
I believe Warmachine won him away from 40k, though.
Anyway, there's a 15 yr old regularly attending the monthly rtt. Just show up.
Is it a booze thing?

From what ive heard there is a age limit in the uk for tournaments (16 i believe ) and they will not let you play if you are not of age, that is if they get wind of it beforehand.

Why do you constantly need to remind people that you are old and terrible at this game?

Excellent question OP, but there aren't any -18 tournaments I've ever heard of, which is a shame, I'd love to play in one! However, I believe Adepticon (needs confirmation?) runs a "Young Bloods" event, but I think it is for 16 and younger. I've also heard of UK school leagues, but here those just don't exist that I have seen.
But, I'd encourage you to play in regular tournaments! I went to my first GT at 15, just stay calm and don't act immature and most opponents really won't care.

GW have a Throne Of Skulls Young Bloods tournament, 12-16s, August each year, at Warhammer World, one day, three games.
We went this year, it was a fantastic event, mostly 'cos of the competitors. Would definitely recommend it. Altho I got bored of the food at Bugman's after around 12 hours (we have a warmup the night before, and another couple matches the day after).

Seriously there is an age limit for tournaments?
My son's been playing in tournaments here in the US since he was 9.

I've never actually seen an age limit at a tournament... played my first small one at 13. It's more of a maturity thing. If the kid actually knows the rules and won't cry if he loses, then he (or she, if the myths are true) gets to play. That's the rule in every tournament I've seen, from 4 to 64 people.
