Hello everyone, I've wanted to start posting on dakkadakka for quite a while now, just never got around to doing it... Few mounths ago I started a CSM army, painted a few things, playtested a couple and... decided to start over - new models, new paint scheme. As one might assume, after reading the title I chose Emperor's Children. So far I've finished 5 Noise Marines and 3 converted Oblits; 5 Bikers, Lord included and another 5-man squad are about half way done...

What do you guys think?

They look good, though the highlights on the Oblits backs are a bit heavy. The first pic has great black armour and good highlighting! I love the bubblegum nastiness.

I think they look pretty damn spiffy. What is the story for the oblits? It kind of looks like their top half is smoke full of weapons? Or am I missing the colors and its meant as a mass of pink flesh?

Regardless, they look pretty cool

It was suppossed to be flesh, but it was my first time using a cyanoacrylate like this, so I went hella overboard with it ^^ I didn't mean to put much on top of their backs, but a fast-drying, liquid glue doesn't provide the same level of control green stuff does

I think if you did another batch and included just a bit onto the legs it would tie in better, but overall they look pretty cool. I'm not a huge fan of stock oblits anyway so I prefer most conversions

I love the white glue + superglue sculpting method. I've used it on a set of kitbashed spawn.

My only suggestion would be to do some very light washing on the pink "flesh" of the oblits with various browns. Don't wash the entire pink regions, just choice shadows and recesses. Browns will add some realism to the flesh look, contrast between dark and light pink, and help tie in the blacks on the armors some.

Here's pics of my cyano-sculpt spawn with some brown washes if you're interested:

Good suggestion, but I'm kinda afraid, that it will break the uniformity the pink's shade brings to the "army"

These are great! Lovely contrast in the colours.

You carry the Emperor's will as your torch, with it destroy the shadows.

The pink's done very nicely. A nice smooth blend, especially on the shoulderpads. Nice!

They're painted very well. However, I disagree with the allocation of the colors.

I think these look spot on. Just the right colour of pink without it being too overpowering. Looking forward to seeing more.

What gold is that on the Sonic Weapons? I've been trying to figure out which gold I need to get that effect for ages, and can never seem to get that pale gold effect that I'm after.

Haven't checked this thread for a while - PM from You made me do it Since someone else might be wondering about it too I'll just repost the message here:
"It's Vallejo's Gold(or Flat Gold, or something like that - look for the most generic-sounding gold)from the Model Color line washed using Vallejo's Umber Shade and then drybrushed using Citadel's old Mithril Silver(if I remember correctly). Hope it helps "

Hey, me neither, but I noticed you asked me to explain what I mean about the colors. So I'll answer late as opposed to never. I think that there needs to be more interplay between the black and pink, and that just completely covering all detail over broad surfaces with 1 solid color gives them a cheap look, even though you took the steps to paint the colors well.
