Hi all,
Just wondered what does having two power weapons of the same type means and what two power weapons of different types mean.
Also when it says power weapon does this mean i can choose which kind of power weapon i have for example sword or axe?
Cheers in advance...

"power weapon" will be whatever power weapon is modeled on the figure (axe, maul, sword, lance, staff).
Having 2 different power weapons means you choose which one you are using each round of combat.
Having 2 of the same, if they're not "unwieldy" you get +1 attack (iirc)

To be clear, to get the +1 attack both weapons need to either have specialist weapon or both need to not have specialist weapon. They do not need to be the same weapon. Some power weapons are specialist weapons but not all are.

Thanks for the clarification. Didn't have my rules handy and was a little fuzzy at the time on that one.

Also, "does this mean i can choose which kind of power weapon i have for example sword or axe?"; Yes and No.
You get to pick when you build the model. After that, if its a sword, its a power sword. If its an Axe, then its a power axe.

And if you magnetize the arm it could be any one of them.

It is a common tactic for e.g. Death Cult Assassins. They have 2 power weapons ... you take 1 Power Sword and 1 Power Axe.
If you face something, get Profile + 1 (for having 2 CCWs) attacks with the power sword ... or if you face for example Terminators - get Profile + 1 attacks with the power axe (to get AP2).
You can choose which weapon you use, and you get always the +1 attack for having 2 close combat weapons.
EXCEPT of course: Specialist Weapons like Lightning Claw, Power Fist, Thunder Hammer, ... you'd need a second of them (don't they have to be exactly the same to get the extra attack, not just another specialist weapon?) to get the extra attack.
But iirc (don't nail me on that) you have to use one of the weapon for the whole phase, so you can't use 1 Power Sword attack and 2 Power Axe attacks ... all of the attacks have to be from one specific weapon (afaik).

They just need the specialist trait. So you can take a lightning claw/powerfist and choose which one to use, getting the bonus attack. Just like the axe/sword, but better and more expensive...

Which is also why a Lightning claw is a good choice on a techmarine: Bonus attack whether you use the Lightning claw or the servo arm(and the same cost as a power weapon).
Also note that for Double price you can still get a grav pistol(exchange your Boltgun for a Power axe, then exchange that melee weapon for a grav pistol).
