Hey guys, I have two questions.

1) If a vehicle is assualted and explodes, are the people inside the vehicle required to be in the assualt with the ones who blew the vehicle up?

2) Do they need to take a morale check?

They start in the wreck unagaged as the unit innside wasnt asaulted then again they all suffer str4 hits aswell toss a d6 before the blow up how far it explodes with str 3 .

Yes they must take a pinning test unless fearless.

To add to 2) even if you cause casualties to the unit inside, or to your unit, due to the explosion, you do not take the panic check for 25% casualties, as this only applies in the movement and shooting phases, not assault. This is a change to prior editions.

Let me also add that the guys inside still have to be placed at least 1" away from all enemy models. Any models that can't be placed within the wreckage and at least 1" away from enemy models are removed as casualties, and then the pinning test is taken.

As a side, I had a Land Raider Crusader surrounded by bugs, and one big flying bug blew it up. I could only place 2 out of the 6 terminators on the table due to the 1" rule, and even that was iffy (my opponent was being generous).

I love surrounding transports before I wreck them and the players I play regularly have learned to keep transports far away from my swarms (if possible). A decent size brood of hormagaunts with adrenal glands glances a rhino to death easily but are not strong enough to pen it (it will never blow up from their assault). With the transport surrounded and the wreck remaining on the table the entire unit inside is destroyed. Land raiders require more muscle but I've done this once with an HT acting as the can opener.
