Hey guys, I'm looking to start 40k (with space Orks), and I refuse to play without painted models. I need to set a goal to work towards to, and I would like to start with around 1,000 pts. I don't need a strong list - I just want to learn what works and what doesn't, and why (ie. I want to learn the foundation of the game, I guess?).

I have:
2 battleforces
3 AOBR warbosses that I can convert into meks
5 AOBR nobz that I may try to make into MANZ
2 boxes of lootas/burnas, with enough extra bodies to assemble ALL of them
2 boxes of nobz
1 box stormboyz
1 box killa kans
1 extra trukk
1 box dakkajet

I have no idea where to really start - most things I have read include 2x20 shoota boyz, a mek, and lootas. I'd like to play with the nobz, burnas, and/or biker nobz because I think they look cool.

Any suggestions on what I can start with?

mk so looks like you got a good start going on here.
best way to start = what type of list do you want to play? speedfreaks,Bw spam,greentide,biker rush those are the best 4 options orks got for "meta"
you dont have that many boyz and you do have 3 trukks if my remembering is correct. so looks more on the side of speed freaks.
heres how ur list should start than for speed freaks.

(INSERT WARBOSS OR BIGMEK WITH KFF HERE) (i think a mek with a KFF would be the best idea here)

EDIT:now all it looks like ur gonna need is another truck (convert it or buy one sure)
for what you got at 1k pt i think you should do OK with this!

Wow, thanks for the quick response! That looks like an interesting list, I didn't even think of speedfreaks; would I equip the boyz with shootas or sluggas?

As far as the type of list... My orks are going to be blood axes, so I definitely want to avoid green tide. I like the idea of having a bunch of battlewagons, and if possible having a some nobz and bikes would be cool too.

man you can do whatever you want its your army this is just my suggestion so you can play here and now yanno?
