Grey Knights:1500 pts

HQ:275pts
Draigo

Elites:360pts
5xPaladins(2xPsycannons,2xhammers,2,Halberds,Banner,psybolt ammo)

Troops:480pts
1x10 strike force:(2psycannon,2hammers)
1x10 strike force:(2psycannon,2hammers)

Heavy Support:370pts
dreadknight:(Heavy Incin,Greatsword)185
dreadknight:(Heavy incin,greatsworrd)185

Total:1485pts

Idea is that each strike force squad will post up on cover and slowly move up field. Kind of an anchor unit. Draigo and paladins will deep strike. Both dreads will start on table unless I feel like deep striking a shooty opponent to get in close. Im hoping this list will perform well so I can advance it to higher point values. I could also swap out the dread knights and take 2 dreadknaughts with twin linked autocannons.

The dreadknights would be better off with personal teleporters, but I know points are tight and they can do ok without them.

You know pallys are troops with draigo right? As far as they go, drop the psybolt(it is only valid on 10 man squads) and the banner(same thing). This alone will buy you another paladin.

Your GKSS probably only need 1 hammer in the unit for damage, or maybe a halbred on the sarge for challenges. You could also just drop them altogether.

Consider adding coteaz to your palidan squad by dropping some extra stuff. He is criminally cheap and very effective.

If I drop the gkss altogether what would I take in its place? Another group of pallys and deep strike them as well?

GKSS x2 psycannon 220
GKSS x2 psycannon 220

Normally I would ALWAYS tell you to take a greatsword but it isn't really possible here so this is the best list I can think of that relates to your original post.

OK I think I'm confused on something else. what is the range of the big incinerator on the dread knights? because I thought it was like 30" or something.

The heavy incinerator is a template weapon obviously, but it does have special rules. See page 57 of the codex for how to use it (top left hand corner under "incinerator").

So I have been rethinking my list. Draigo star is struggling as of late. Slow models and having a hard time getting into combat before I get popped. SO I made a new list that is a little more in your face and faster getting into combat playstyle of grey knights. So here it is.

Grey Knight 1500

HQ:
Coteaz:100pts

Elites:250pts
Terminatorsx5:(2Psycannons,2Halberds,1Hammer)

Troops:300pts
Intercept squadx10(2psycannon,2Halberd,1Hammer,Psybolt ammo)

Troops:300pts
Intercept squadx10(2psycannon,2Halberd,1Hammer,Psybolt ammo)

Fast Attack:205pts
Stormraven:

Heavy:260pts
DreadKnight:Heavy Incin,GS,PT

Total:1415pts

Cotaez is in the stormraven with the Terminators. Everything else starts on the table. I have 85 points idk what to do with. Also is heavy hitting is what im lacking. I can always switch out the great sword on the DK and add a heavy psycannon. Or switch out the dreadknight all together and put in 2 dreadknoughts with TLACs. Some Constructive crit would be nice. I think this list will throw a nice curveball and be fun to play and play against.

This is an illegal list for several reasons.

1. Your terminators are not elites nor can take two psycannons per five. Even if they were paladins their points are off.

2. Interceptors are not troops

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

was used to using pallys forgot to read what and what not the termies could take.

HQ:
Coteaz:100pts

Elites:300pts
10xIntercepters(2psycannons,2Halberds,1Hammer,Psybolt Ammo)

Troops:470pts
10xTermies(2psycannons,4halberds,2Hammers,Psybolt Ammo)

5xTermies(1Psycannon,2Halberds,1Hammer)-Goes in Stormraven-225pts

Fast Attack:205pts
Stormraven:

Heavy:260pts
DreadKnight:Heavy Incin,GS,PT

Total on this list is 1560. Idk what I should do to shave off 60pts.

Scratch that. I came up with this list. Will use the GKSS as an objective holder unit. Now do I buy more units with the extra points? Or upgrade the troops I have.

You can take out the hallberds and one hammer o the Strike Squad.
Interceptors are Fast Attack, not Elite
Why terminators instead of more GKSS?

I would make it :
HQ :
Coteaz (100)

Troops :
10 GKSS, 2 psycanon, psyamo (240)
10 GKSS, 2 psycanon, psyamo (240)

Fast Attack :
10 Interceptors, 2 incinerators, psyamo (320)
Stormraven (205)

Heavy :
DK, Heavy incinerator, teleporter, sword (260)
Dread : 2TLAC psyamo (135)

Total : 1500

As far as I'm aware 5 man Terminators are still great for dealing with tougher IC's / Vehicles.

If you're going to keep the termies, I recommend equipping them as 4x hammers and a warding stave. This makes them effective against MCs and other terminators. The warding stave tanks all the wounds until it dies, then your termies hit hard. They are terrible anti-air (don't know why they'd be good at that...), but they can deal with multi-wound and 2+ models very efficiently in close combat.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
