It's apparently really hard to get a weekend slot- my friend is coming up for the Dropzone Commander tournament on Friday, and I likely would have if they'd been able to run it on Saturday. But, like you said, the slots for Saturday are booked by bigger game systems.

Fingers crossed I can still make it up for the DzC, and of course I'd say hi to you lot . A beginner's tourney does sound like a great event to include in one of your slots if possible.

I'm waiting for one teeny tiny piece of information from TempleCon before we can say for certain what we will and will not be running at the con.

I'm not overly impressed by the person or persons doing the event signups this year...

My biggest complaint was the time between when I submitted the events and when I heard back from TempleCon letting me know that we couldn't have one of the time slots we wanted... :-\ A week+ had passed

I just tried to make a list for the Beginners' Tournament with the few models I have, and with the 2nd ed rules, I only fill 25 resources. Anybody got some surplus Mare-Civitas to lend me for the second event?

It depends if I get some free time tonight or not. If not I'm sure we can work something out.

Wish I could be at TempleCon this year (luckily we had a volunteer offer to do some demos for WA, which is great)

You kids have fun.

A match is played on those green mats? They doesn't look too big to me.

Yeah, Catyrpelius made really tiny play areas for some reason.

That sure is a lot of black t-shirts. I hope everyone is having fun. I would love to hear a run down of what factions people played, or whatever details people remember when they get back home.

We were supposed to play on 2x4 boards , but they warped in the cold so we cut them down to the size of the tables underneath the 40k tables (which weren't there for Friday's event. I'll try to get the winning lists over the next few days.

How the game reacted to be played on such a small area?

The game worked out pretty well, no one had too much issue with the size of the board, if nothing else, it simply shortened the time needed to get into melee, or range of guns.

You've got to bear-in-mind that both events were 50 resource and HLvL 2 begineers tournaments. At 50 resources alot of factions are only going to have 5 or 6 models on the table... The mats are actually 2' by 3' and were originally suggested to me by Cyp for the Warstore Weekend Tournament. Along with the small tables we also disallowed siege weapons and fortifications, mainly so we didn't have any trebuches showing up. Counting the two tournaments run this weekend there have only been three Brushfire tournaments run... It's a work in progress. Were trying to find a good balance and the basics of the tournaments run at Templecon will probably change for next time.

Just a quick note. The pictures of the tournament that Cyp posted are actually from Saturday night.
