Hello folks. Yesturday I bought what I thought was the 5th Ed Grey Knights. The copyright inside the book says it was printed
in 2010. However, it has the same cover as the April of 2011 released. Is my copy of the Grey Knights the 5th Ed, a previous ed, or
a misprint?

If its called codex grey knights, then you are good. The book prior to codex grey knights was codex daemonhunters. So as long as its called codex grey knights...

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Is the Dread Knight in it? If yes, it's current.

The GK codex before that was 3rd edition and it was available as a PDF on GWs website, I doubt you have that one

Yes, it has the Nemesis Dreadknight under Heavy Support Options. As well as the Storm Raven Gunship under Fast Attack
Options. This edition also has the Jokaero Weaponsmiths under the Inquisitorial Henchmen Warband as an Elites Choice.
This edition seems to be simular to regular Space Marines. None of that, "every Grey Knight can take a Iron Halo with a reroll
for everything" list as my friend's codex says he can do.

Well next time ask to see your friends codex and the rules that give that ability, as opposed to just listening to him about it.

I assure you, no GK codex has ever allowed you to do that.

As a combination of exaggeration and misinformation.....he might not be TOO far off, at least not enough to immediately jump to cheating anyways. Nemesis staves and swords combined with terminator armor works like pseudo iron halos in melee anyways. Access to divination and master crafted weapons everywhere is a lot of rerolling going on and a 4+ invul save. Psyfle-dreads re-roll to hit and venerables get force rerolls on penetrating hits. Can take the ability from brother captains/Draigo that allows units to re-roll wound rolls of 1.....etc.

Psychic powers plus special abilities can pretty much be what he was talking about if you stack stuff properly.

Not army wide though. Only a librarian could get rerollable saves for example.

I am not accusing him of cheating he is still new to the game. Its why I am making sure that I got the correct codex and keeping him honest with it. Plus I do like to know my enemies armies as well as I know my own.

Oh dear. Download what you want but leave people alone that want a printed version. Kids these days

Theres a german saying that says (translated): "Your poverty pisses me off!" - seems to fit perfectly here.

Lol I didn't know people still lived in Germany. And I'm poverty? Come at me bro you couldn't even hold my pay stubs.

By the way, only kids have to call kids kids.

Now go have a pint and some sausage [Mode Edit - Don't try 'work-arounds' for the expletive filter. Also, Rule #1. Alpharius]

Wait, you're justifying copyright violation with "I've done it before, so it's OK"?

"It's OK officer, I've killed a whole bunch of people before!"

Whats going on here? You are on a forum devoted to wargaming where people are happy to support the companies who make these miniatures/game systems. You aren't going to make a lot of friends by bashing people who buy their products.

The pay stubs thing is also a pretty cheap shot to some people in these difficult economic times. It doesn't take money to stay classy. BTW you couldn't hold my pay stub either......... its electronic - whaaaaaaaat.

Yes, people just up and moved out of an entire country. For no reason. happens. I hear this time it was because of an evil beaver overlord.
And its "I'm impoverished" not "im poverty"
Come at me bro? see this is why i dont associate with my generation
Also, dont condone illegal activities on dakka.

You make a fair point.
To the OP i believe the most recent is the codex you have, and yes it is possible to make all models re-rolls and a 4+ invouln in CC, just have to check to make sure he is pointing his items out correctly as well as using them properly.

We're done here then.

Hope the codex is proving of use to the OP.
