Totally agree my point being was like you my earlier orders quality was of a good standard, it was just a shame that my last order was so bad and I can see why others have complained.

It does seem to be a hit and miss game as others have mentioned receiving some quality castings, I guess I was just extremely unlucky.

OK another update ( positive one I am hoping ) got a reply to my email concerning the replacement parts, from Artur himself ( Puppetswar owner ).

He apologised for the treatment I have received as in the poor castings and the fact that the replacements had not been dispatched as promised, however he has made sure they were of quality and dispatched them today ( including tracking number) along with a list of freebies as an apology.

He was upfront and honest about the fact the replacements had not been sent out as promised and apologised for his staffs oversight, now being honest goes a long way with me so I was happy to be told the truth from square one.

On top of this the mentioned freebies seemed generous even for an apology so happy with that, but the other thing which may be of interest to you all was that Artur said they have been working on a new casting system to improve casting so hopefully we will be seeing some improvement in this area.

Just thought you might want to know.

Update time replacements turned up and have to say considerably much better, no distortion a few minor air bubbles and a couple of mould steps but nothing to write home about and no worse than some other major manufacturers.

So over all much happier and if they keep to this quality I am sure most people will be impressed with their castings, I would take some pics but since coming back from holiday can't find the camera but once I do I will.

So Fingers crossed that there is brighter future ahead for Puppetswar plus the freebies was nice little haul as well

If I ever ordered from them again, I'd be sure to blog every step of the process - both here and on my external blog - and I'd make sure that PW were aware of it as well.

I imagine that would help my order arrive in a reasonable timeframe, and possibly even good castings.

I love the look of these walkers, makes me wan't to get three and start a small Space Marine force
i can only imagine how good three of those would look with the cockpit option and pair of their "AT Cannons" mounted on their shoulders, representing a twin- linked las-cannon, and somehow get a heavy flamer on there
Then of course there is the option to magnetize them and use them as ironclads as well when I feel like it... Dammit, I have enough to do already, I did not need this now!

On the point on the quality control of Puppetswar's products: I can only hope it gets better considering other peoples experiences, because I also plan on getting at least three Taurus Exterminator APCs, three groups of the human infantry and that group of "fire demons", and then use it all as the start of my Imperial Guard force...

You keep saying this. Have you had a bad experience? I haven't had any issues. Heck I failed to check all the parts from a gift order my girlfriend gave me for X-Mas, when I found missing parts 3 months later I emailed them and they asked when the order was. I gave them the rough time she ordered and the mailing address and they sent me the missing pieces along with a load of extra free stuff Immediately. The missing parts were a couple wrong legs from the barghiest fiends. Heck they even sent me another pack of fiends.

Besides that hiccup, the quality wasn't perfect (few air bubbles) but in my experience with chapterhouse and many other alternative parts makers, they were no worse then the competition. They definitely beat failcast. They use a quality resin as well. I wouldn't recommend them to intro hobbiests, but then again I would never recommend resin to newbies anyway.

I think I've said it...twice in this thread?

There are enough bad stories in here that I don't feel like gambling.

Additionally, their inability to be officially present almost anywhere isn't inspiring.

I'm glad you've had nothing but good times with them though - sincerely!

Good For You!

Man I've got a couple hundred dollars worth of their stuff I really WANT, but I've seen far too much bad casts to place the order. Plus the price just really isn't showing me the value if there's still a lot of work needing to be done on them. If they had a presence here and I could be assured of the casts it would be a different matter entirely. My hobby budget is small, but I just sold off an army and really considering building an army around their samurai powered armor guys, shredders and the new walkers.

That took 2 months to get to me at a time when their despatch times were listed as about 5 days. After I complained very loudly and publically, they sent me replacements. I started going through the replacement stuff, and when I saw some was also miscast, I never bothered to check the rest of it and boxed it all away in disgust. All of the stuff is still sitting in a plastic tub, unused over a year later.

Anyone got a link to the old Puppetswar thread? There was another guy with an experience just as bad as mine (and pics to prove it).

It's probably also worth pointing out that I think their sculpts are lovely - some of the best not-marine and not-necron bits in the business. If I felt I could trust them for quality, despatch and communications, I'd be placing an order at least once a month.

Seriously.

Agreed. There are quite a lot of things I would love to get from them, but the evidence shown thus far regarding their casting quality keeps me away.
I mean, just look at the dude on the right in this pic:
Spoiler:

I would love to do a whole army of winged hussars.

But, look at the bright side: they're not Defiance Games, so they still might get better.

I still haven't gotten the spare part they were supposed to send when I contacted them 1-2 months ago for one of the flyers.

And the casting is meh. Love a bunch of stuff they have but just don't want to risk it.

Also. For anyone wanting to contact these guys I highly recommend PM'ing them through facebook rather than email. I sent them a very sincere email asking them to join the forums again and address issues like their long shipping times and casting problems and it took over a month before I received a very noncommittal reply unlike the 10 minute wait I had until they went on FB!

Those Orks look great.. Just on the borderline of the sort of thing I'm not sure I want to spend time doing myself.

I wish I was more confident in the quality I'd be getting. Still haven't pulled the trigger on any PW purchases for that reason.

Ah, bummer - still, it was worth a shot, right?

I wish they'd up their game, get an 'official presence' back out there, and maybe work on their QC and CS?

They've got some great stuff on offer...

They probably stopped posting after it became apparent they'd be called on all their quality issues. It's a shame, though... the best way to deal with it would be to face / address it head-on.

Seems they prefer the Ostrich technique.

If they'd have pulled their heads out of the dark place and dealt with this stuff properly, I'd probably have spent thousands of dollars without any exaggeration on their stuff by now.
