Really good paint job! Very smooth, gives a really nice Eldar look to the mini's. If you wouldnt mind sharing with us, what colors of brown did you use for the edges around the bases?

Looks pretty good!
The red on the vehicles does look a bit flat for my tastes a bit of edge highlighting would really bring them to life.

I really like your style--not over highlighted but with a lot of depth and a little bit of grit. Your white looks really good (could it be any more difficult to work with?) as well as your black. Also, the constellation pattern on the Wraithknight's face is a nice touch.

That's Idrian Flesh (P3).
Flurl wrote:Great guys! Like what you did on the black stripes! Could you do a group-pic?
Unfortunately, I can't. We have already sent this one the way of all commissions, so I don't have any of these minis right now.
I did get a few more pics that I put in my Eldar gallery (I think we ended up with somewhere around thirty of them all together). Most of those are different angles on the larger minis, or a few different minis from the same units (another set of rangers, for example).

No, not everyone needs to agree on the paint job, but you do realise that they were commissioned? So will have been painted to a quality commensurate with the clients wants and budget?
Secondly, you've made no effort at any sort of feedback, you've effectively just said "I think these are gak" which is just rude whatever way you paint it (ha!)

I also meant to say that I like your choice to not use the standard paint scheme for the Shining Spears. I'm not a fan of several of the Aspect Warrior paint schemes: Striking Scorpions, Shining Spears, Swooping Hawks. Howling Banshees can be okay...
I think matching their color scheme to the army's overall palette creates a much nicer, cohesive effect.

Really nice work, shading a little thick in places for my taste. But, that's just my taste.
Really like the army, especially the vehicles.

That credit should go to my client- the color schemes themselves were largely his doing (I realized them for him). That said, I totally agree with you- I think the aspect warriors generally lack any kind of cohesion with the force as a whole, and you really need to do something to reign them in.
There are subtler ways to do it that work, but this works quite well too.
