Subject: Storing XW in KR foam, question about the Lambda shuttle

Sorry if I could have found this another way, but google wasn't really all that helpful.
Anyway, I'm looking to store all my XW stuff in KR foam. With a little creative cutting, my firespray fits perfectly and as soon as my second tray is in, I'm confident so will my YT-1300 (with how well the paint job on these models holds I'm not overly concerned with rubbing paint off of models, so a "tight" fit in no issue to me). All good so far; the 'smaller' ships fit the KR foam perfectly so everything is going well and once those huge Wave 4 models hit, well, I'll skin that kitten once I get to it
The Lambda, however, has me worried. It might just fit, or it might be just a tad too wide. The crucial measurement here would be how wide the model is, wings folded, to see if it'll fit KR's 51mm foam laid on it's side. Now if it's 55mm or so it'll still squeeze in (good thing about 'squishier' types of foam!) so I'm not too worried about that, but >60mm would be a real issue.
Now I know it fits a 'regular' box for the 2xblister price XW models, but those are 65-70mm so that's exactly no help at all.
Haven't played too much XW since wave 4 release and haven't encountered the model yet; could someone who already has the model please tell me how wide it is with wings folded? Thanks a bunch!

With the wings up and on its side (i.e. - how FFG ships it), the widest point of the shuttle looks to be roughly 48mm wide. Can't lay hands on a tape measure with metric on it at the moment, but it looks to be 1 7/8" (1.875") at that point.

Okay, well anything not over 2 1/8" is perfect so if you're making an educated estimate under 2", I'm quite happy with that. Thanks a bunch!

Measured myself with a metric ruler, it's 48mm wide. In case you need it, I also make it 74mm long and 65mm tall (wings folded).

The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.” |

That could actually be useful too, thanks.
Seems Krinsath is good at eyeballing dimensions by the way - to the mm

I had a look at the KR site this week and a tray for the latest releases is out soon, maybe even this month. The Lambda is definitely catered for as that was my primary reason for looking.

Problem with KR's purposemade trays for the bigger ships is that they're inefficient. Squishing them in just a little bit (and the prepaintjob takes that well) I get more in the "basic" trays, and I can figure out which big ships to fit together in one tray as suits me.
To each his own though. customcut sure looks fancier

Just to re-enliven this one. I had a new KR case arrive this week for the Lambda - set G. The first tray annoyingly hold two lambdas (why would you want 2?) but that space can be reused to hold cards/tokens. It also has space for fighter escorts and slots for cards so reasonably good usage of the space. The second new tray holds 3 B-wings and 4 HWKs. I'm no fan of the HWK so don't have any but the way the aperture is cut allows for any other type of fighter to be housed here if you would prefer. This does make for some wasted space but worth it to house those sexy B-Wings safely IMO. I'll post pictures up later when I'm back from work.
