Ok Dakka, here's the deal. My hobby store has a small weekly Round Robin unofficial tournament and I've never really paid it much heed preferring larger tournaments (its only 750 points) but a friend has asked me too come and its in 2 days. I've just thrown together a last minute list and its not one I've ever fielded before and it needs some patching up so lay your wisdom on me. I'm not taking it very seriously and this list is more for fun than competition. So in short plenty of Boyz, a nasty Warboss with lots of PK attack and some Tankbustaz to blow the feth out of a few light vehicles
HQ-Warboss w/ PK, Cybork, Boss Pole, Attack Squig, Heavy Armour=120 points
Elites-7 Tankbustas w/2 Tankhammers, 2 Bomb Squigs=145 points
Troops 1-20 Choopa Boyz w/Nob, PK=155 points
Troops 2-20 Shoota Boyz w/Nob, PK, Boss Pole=160 points
Troops 2-20 Shoota Boyz w/Nob, PK, Boss Pole=160 points
All up its only 740 but I'm unsure about what to do with the last 10 points. I have plenty of models to make adjustments to this list, or I might even scrap it and put a whole new one together depending on what peoples thoughts are. Thanks!

Get rid of cybork on the boss and stick him with the choppa boyz. Try to cut down on tankbustaz and put the boyz in trukkz

Sorry forgot to mention warboss is with the choppa boyz. I considered a more mobile army but opted against it for increased numbers, i find my truks dont do so well they always get destroyed before they can get the boyz where i want them, especially against tau or SM

Well you can scrap cybork anyway. Thinking on it now, I would scrap the bustaz and put bikes. They will tangle up units and with a nob with a powerklaw you'd fix that pesky tank problem and be formidable with infantry. Not to mention the 4+ cover bikes always get. Scrap cybork body and put some boyz in a truck with bikez to harass for about the same pts.

Footslogging Boyz against a Tau army is one of the most depressing things I have wver seen. Bikez remedy it though.

At 750 id go either all shootaboyz or all trukker slugga boyz both with some support of some lootas or bikers
Either way orks are rly good at low points since most people cant handle 36-60 boyz well at those points

Heres a 500pt mech list I posted earlier.
Wazdakka Gutsmek: 180 pts
10x 'Ard Boyz and 1 Nob: 166 pts
11x Stikkbombs
1x Big Shoota
Powerklaw on Nob
Bosspole
Wartrukk: 40pts
Red paint job
3x Warbikes: 115 pts
Nob
Power Klaw
Bosspole
Since wazdakka has bikez as troops, bikes score. Its not a big list but I only want shootaz to hold an objective and have bikez wreck objectives and enemy alike. Pretty fun list. With the extra 249pts you could do alot more with it. Even more bikez. By gork and mork, I love bikez. Automatically Appended Next Post: Actually you could make a shooty mob 'Ard boyz to hold objectives instead of choppaz.

Why stikkbombs? orks are only I 2
and the trukk is better of with a reinforced ram, One failed dangerous terrain test and those boyz are toast.

I just played a 750 tourny with orks this week. 2 trukks and a battlewagon rolled me to the semi finals. Not a lot can pop av14 in such a low point game. Its the only time ive had success vs tau and eldar lol. Kannons and lootas are nice support options if you have the pieces. Good krumpin!

Careful not too sink too many points into bikers. Although everyone here seems to think Tau hate them, they have a lot of weapons/ tools that remove cover, aka the worst thing that could ever happen to bikers!
Kannons are very underated, don't forget they can 1 shot crisis suits, AP 3 and strength 8 plays havoc against suits.
As mentioned above, battlewagons at low points are beautiful!
Id add kannons and BW's, just my two cent!

The reason why tau dislike bikes is not as much the cover as is the speed the bikes have
Besides dont forget if the tau use their markerlights to remove cover that means they have less markerlights to increase their BS
Still, at such low points as 750 the most important thing is to have a big enough core of boyz

Ok guys after some revision this is another potential list HQ-Warboss w/eavy armour, attack squig, boss pole, cybork body, power klaw=120 points (could cut squig or eavy armour) Troops 1-18 choppa boyz w/nob, power klaw=149 points (attached to the warboss in a battlewagon) Troops 2- 21 shoota boyz w/nob, power klaw, boss pole, 2 big shoots=176 points Fast Attack=5 warbikers w/nob, power klaw, boss pole=165 points (all i could afford and honestly i dont think they will be worth it only 5 of them there attack wont to very much damage and wont be plentiful enough, the nob could take care of light vehicles i suppose) Heavy Support-Battlewagon w/red paint job, 4 rokkits=135 points (4 rokkits seems silly i know but i need some anti tank) All up thats still 745 so what should i do with the extra 5 points? Is this list more likey to work than the other one? My personal opinion is go with the footslogging list but you guys recommended battlewagons and bikes so.... PS: I love that Dakka makes you check your spelling, such a considerate website.

I liked your three sqauds of boys Personally, I would add big shootas to the mix and had Lootas/Deftcoptas( TL Rokkits hurt alot and there great against Crisi Suits and other T 4 Multi wound models.

Rokkits, unless twinlinked or shot by grots, are terrible, I would really drop them from the Battlewagon. Besides the battlewagon shouldnt even stop to shoot unitll you deliver your load. Also you must not run a Battlewagon without a Deffrola, it is an essential upgrade. It helps alot with dangerous terrain tests, and also lets you run over some tanks after you deliver da boyz.
You should look into Deffkoptas with TL rokkits or Big Gunz(Kannonz) if you need to poke at some armor (not to mention Lootas, those dudes are great even in squads of 5)

If anyones is still interested I just got back from the tournament and I ended up running the first list but swapped the tankbustas for 10 lootas just on a whim. It worked well enough. 1st Match-Won, Played Chaos which I never enjoy but I managed a close win just buy having sheer numbers of troops to run in and grab objectives in the last few turns. Warboss got minced by his lord though. 2nd Match-Won, played the friend who made me come who is also a tau player, honestly his list was better than mine he could ave shot me to pieces in two turns but he deployed terribly in my opinion, he had no sight lines and he picked the table half with no cover so i was able to keep da ladz obscured until it was to late..... 3rd Match-Lost, Necrons got the better if me, I find them terrifying and I think i just lost my nerve a bit and made some silly mistakes, namely focusing on his less important units and letting his immortals and warriors run around unchecked 4th Match-Won, played another Ork player for the first time iver, I out WAAAGHED! him, which felt nice 5th Match-Lost, Blood angels. Need I say more? 6th Match-Tau again, he did much better and shot the feth out of my warboss and his unit painfully quickly. Still managed a draw though with line-braker A very long day of gaming but I felt my little last minute list did very respectfully. I didnt win the blood angels player won 3 matches same as me but he had 2 draws and one loss whereas I had one draw and 2 losses, so he took home the prize of a pat on the back and a slightly inflated ego. Whoever it was that said ork do well with small point list because they cant handle the number of boyz you were dead right, they were great, completely swarmed the chaos and tau effectively. Got badly chopped up by the BA though (surprise, surprise). The Warboss was probably the best warlord in the tournament, he reeked havik in every single game except the one where he was shot down in turn 3, he even managed to take down a unit of 7 chaos marine on his own (luckiest. rolling. ever) before the lord came and knocked of his last wound. The lootas proved themselves well, sometimes i deployed them as one big unit sometimes as 2 small ones, either way they were useful and taking down units not using cover or sitting on objectives. Thanks as always for the input Dakka! Next time im going to try the battlewagon list and see how it does compard to the loadsa boyz list

Nob PK + 19 Shootas + BW
2x5 Lootas
As said, at 750pts just a few units can take down AV14, and the deathrollaz can be devastating.

i like your idea the most as it can kill everything. and at low points nobs with pks are just pointless. but i think 3 squads of 10 lootas would be better or 3squads of 8-9 to get a good HQ.

Maybe replace the tankbustas with some a squad of nine lootas which is more effective for taking down light vehicles such as rhinos and walkers which is mostly what you will be against at a small points cost which will give you ten extra armour then scrap the squad of choppa boys and split one squad of shoots boys add an extra nob with bosspole and power claw and put both squads into trucks with reinforced rams and put the warboss into one of them. Bump the lootas up to 10 men and add some more boys. The list will look like this:
[HQ]
Warboss - Mega armour, cybork body, attack squig - 130
[ELITES]
10 Lootas - 150
[TROOPS]
22 Boys - Nob, BP, PK, shootas, big shoota - 177
12 Boys - Nob, BP, PK, shootas, truck, reinforced ram - 152
11 Boys - Nob, BP, PK, shootas, truck, reinforced ram -146
You should put the warboss In the truck containing 11 boys drive it up the battle field and engage the enemy's most shooty squad with just the warboss whilst the other trucks drive around tank shocking squads and raining them with dakka
