Ok, I'm dusting off my old GK. I want to know if they work at all in 6th? This list used to rule all in our friendly scene. I know it won't set a tourney alive, but I'd like feedback.

HQ

Lord Draigo

Castellen Crowe

TROOPS

5 purifiers, 2 x incinerators, 2 x falchions

5 x terminators, brotherhood banner, 4 x halberds

5 x terminators, brotherhood banner, daemon hammer, falchions, psilencer

5 x terminators, brotherhood banner, daemon hammer, psycannon

FAST ATTACK

5 x Interceptors, daemon hammer, psycannon

HEAVY SUPPORT

Dread knight, heavy incinerator, heavy psycannon

Dread knight, Gatling psilencer, great sword

Dread knight, daemon hammer, heavy psycannon

It's 1995 Pts. It's pretty much what I have, built, armed as owned. I might keep these as a playable list whilst I take my time working on my iyanden. I'm open to suggestions that I can affect over time. My first thought is to ditch a termite squad for 2 strike squads. But I don't know if GK are any good in this Ed at all since I've only been playing DA and Iyanden, so I don't wanna waste money if I'm going to get humped all the time. I think my mates farsight list would decimate this list.

Drop draigo. Get coteaz. make a squad of ten termites. Add a gkss and IMO drop the purifiers and add five more intercepters. Gk is all about trying to get in your oppositions face by at least turn 2. Or else we get shot down to fast.

Ok lets take it step by step :

- Draigo : while he is great, he is great when played to his strength, meaning in a big paladin squad where he tanks for the others and make paladin scoring. Here he is just an OP character
- Crowe : He is quite expensive for a very fragile HQ. His pros is to make purifiers scoring. If you take him, go with lots of purifiers (30+)
- Purifiers : the strength of the purifiers is the ability to take multiple psycanon AND CC. The falchions are overcosted, take hallberds instead for a cc squad, but either go full cc or with psycanon
- Termis : Once again drop the falchions, they are crap. The brotherhood banner is good on 10 men squads, on 5 men its overcosted, so either group the squads or leave it out
- 3 termy squad is expensive, GKSS have double firepower per point and usually same or better durability per point
- Interceptors : those are great with incinerators to use their jump
- Dreadknight : heavy psycanon and Gatling are bad weapons, dont take them, teleporter is great (but expensive). If you dont want to pay for the teleporter, take 3 naked Dreadknight who will run and cost not a lot (and if they are not focused they will hurt still^^)

Grand Master gives the Dreadknights ability to take objectives. he goes with one of the Terminator squads deep striking.

Crowe wanders around trying not to die...

The purifers (slightly undermanned in my opinion but was trying to keep the list as unaltered as possible) go in the Stormraven and claim objectives etc.

HQ

Lord Draigo
dont bother if you dont bring nearly all paladins

Castellen Crowe
not worth it for only one squad

just bring an inquisitor or coteaz

TROOPS

5 purifiers, 2 x incinerators, 2 x falchions
drop falchions for halberds and maybe take a hammer

5 x terminators, brotherhood banner, 4 x halberds
good, but IMHO only take banners in 10 man squads, trade it for a hammer. add a psycannon

5 x terminators, brotherhood banner, daemon hammer, falchions, psilencer
drop falchions for halberds, change psilencer to psycannon and see above about banner

5 x terminators, brotherhood banner, daemon hammer, psycannon
get 4 halberds, drop banner, awesome

FAST ATTACK

5 x Interceptors, daemon hammer, psycannon
not bad, but id rather have 2 10 man squads of termies

HEAVY SUPPORT

Dread knight, heavy incinerator, heavy psycannon

Dread knight, Gatling psilencer, great sword

Dread knight, daemon hammer, heavy psycannon
make them all at least incin and teleporter, maybe psycannon then if you have points add sword

I like the idea of coteaz. Never ever run inquisitors though. How do people play him?

And surely falchions aren't that bad? The FAQ says they are unusual force weapons, making them AP 3 as well as force weapons, and granting an extra attack?

Yes, but all your weapons are also at least AP3 and force weapons. +1 Attack costs 5 points per model. Your free options are I6, 4+ invulnerable save in CC, or 2x strength at AP2. If falchions were free they'd be a pretty good choice, but because of the cost and the abilities of the other weapons they aren't the best. I've seen lists that run them, and they aren't terrible, but I think you'll find the other weapons have more utility.

Coteaz is easy to use, take 2 divination powers (and one of those should be prescience) and use him to buff units. Attach him to a shooty squad to make full use of his special rule (I've Been Expecting You), and if you need to steal the initiave or prevent a steal he can help with that.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Ok, so I've done some pretty hefty list modifications. Could turn out to be averagely expensive, but let's see what you guys think...

HQ

Grand master with psychotroke and rad grenades

Coteaz

TROOPS

10 x terminators, 5 halberds, 1 banner, 2 psycannons, 2 hammers, psybolt ammo. (Both HQ's hide in here)

5 x Strike squad, psycannon

5 x Strike squad, psycannon

ELITES

5 x purifiers, 2 x incinerators, 2 x halberds

FAST ATTACK

5 x interceptors, hammer, psycannon

5 x interceptors, incinerator

HEAVY SUPPORT

3 x Dreadknights each with Hvy incinerator & great swords.

1999 points.

The idea of the grand master is to make the interceptors troops for some last minute objective grabbing that rivals the eldar. He'll sit in his mini Death Star of terminators ensuring anything they fight in combat is well and truly in trouble. Coteaz in there means that any reserves trying to come any where near them will be smashed with 10 storm bolsters which are S5 due to the ammo upgrade. The purifiers are in there combust because I like and own them already, not sure what I'll use them for just yet. A little gutted that all 3 of my built Dreadknights will need replacing. That's life I guess!

Any thoughts?

Drop draigo get Corteaz.
DK in threes is a good idea at 2k
I would drop one group of termies and add more intercepters.
