Now please forgive me as I don't own the new space marine codex and this list has been thrown together in my mind as something I would try...

ELITES:
Sternguard x8 (4 combi plasma) - Drop Pod

TROOPS:
Tac Squad - Las cannon, melta gun
Tac Squad - Las cannon, melta gun

FAST ATTACK:
3 x Stormtalon - sky hammer missiles

HEAVY SUPPORT:
3 x Devastator Squad 4xMM - Drop Pod


Now I think this comes to close to 2K but I could be way out. If people can recommend better weapon load outs for the squads that is grand.

The point is to use the UM chapter tactics to make the Dev Squads relentless and drop them with sternguard support, the troops hold the back field and the talons add AA.

Might not work but I think its interesting.

It won't work because devs aren't relentless if they disembark. You'd know that if you owned the book
