I was hoping to do a conversion on my Deathmarks.... we know from fluff that they hide in "pocket-dimensions" and come out of hyperspace when the time and location is right. What kind of conversions do you think I could do to represent models coming out of hyperspace? I'm not looking to spend too much time and money on this but if there is any rather simple methods to doing this, it would be cool.

My current idea revolves around using a little wooden disk that would be connected perpendicularly to my model using green rods (from Gauss Flayers) and painted in a outlandish scheme (not sure how to paint that either). If anyone has any examples and/or ideas, I would be very happy if you could share them.

Cheers

A bit radical but if you get a slightly ragged 'portal' shaped disc of wood and have the deathmark coming out of it it would look cool.

Half a model stuck to a mini mirror a la Tim Curry coming out of the mirror in Legend?

I'm sorry but I do not understand your reference.

In the film "Legend", Tim Curry plays the Devil and he emerges from a mirror. It's kinda cool. Fx probably look well dated and cheesy now, but I bet the clip is on YouTube. Anyway, I was more imagining a little piece of black mirror, maybe in an irregular shape, with the deathmarks emerging from it. Does that make more sense?

yes... it does... actually I like that idea a lot. It might look rly good if pulled off properly and doesn't require painting....

If you look at the instructions that come with the Deathmark kit you will see the art, they have electricity around their legs. You could buy some jewelry wire at a hobby shop and could easily create some energy with it.

Here are a couple examples of what I was thinking. I happen to be making some Deathmarks right now and will probably try something similar.

ooo.... that looks cool... so it looks like if the Deathmarks are just materializing out of hyperspace...
