Fantasy Flight has posted an updated set of rules and an update to the tournament rules.

The tournament rules contain a very simple update: Wave 3 is legal! You can now bring your B-wings, TIE bombers, HWK-290s, and Lambda-class shuttles into the tournament scene, so take advantage of these changes and test out your builds before the World Championships in November!

Huzzah, Captain Jonus and Cluster Missiles has been answered!

[EDIT]- Also, I'm American now ? Does this mean I can start blaming Obama when I lose a game?

Was there ever anything to ask? I'm not really sure why they had to include a FAQ for that one.

darth vader (crew card) gets 3 mentions. the fact that it can be used repeatedly in the same rnd makes him pretty good actually.

Not really. You need a gunner to do it twice, which means you can only do it with a shuttle and you have to spend a lot of points. And throwing four damage a turn on your own ship means you're going to lose it very quickly, so that's at least 30 points gone. Not many ships cost 30 points, so most of the time you're going to be trading a 30+ point shuttle for a cheaper ship, and you aren't going to win games by doing that.

(And this is also a thing that isn't new. Vader working multiple times was already perfectly clear.)

In theory, if you do it twice and manage to get in short range though. You'd still effectively have 6 damage points left (including shields), so enough to say, challenge an X-Wing.

Probably not the best trade though, yeah...

The only way I could see the Vader ability being useful is against a Millennium Falcon that you just absolutely have to get a crit on.

ur forgetting the slave1. bounty hunter is 33pts. its all a question of timing with vader. using him every attack is suicidal. waiting until you can deliver the killing blow or game changing crit (yes you needs some luck too) might work. its kind of a kamakazi attack where you are going to take damage to make sure you either take out or cripple a key enemy ship. what i think people have overlooked about the vader crew card is the threat of using him will change the way you play against him (if ur worried about vader delivering the killing blow or crippling ur best ship, you are going to fly differently and select different actions - such as being more defensive).

The bounty hunter can't use Vader twice a turn (the subject of the FAQ) because you only have one crew slot and therefore can't take a gunner to get a second attack to trigger his ability. The only way to do it would be a one-time attack with cluster missiles, but then you're sacrificing 40 points to maybe kill a single ship that will almost always be significantly less than 40 points.

(if ur worried about vader delivering the killing blow or crippling ur best ship, you are going to fly differently and select different actions - such as being more defensive).

Not really, because the best Vader can usually do is trade an expensive ship for a cheaper ship. The best counter to Vader is to take the hit, let them sacrifice a ship, and be glad they didn't take a more effective offensive threat.

oh yeah, my bad about the double action effect. yes you need gunner + vader.
of these two crew im thinking gunner will get the nod onboard the slave1.
i cant help thinking vader might be better than it appears.
perhaps it will get a boost in future sets?
