My name is Brandon, but I choose to go by Sol. Seems easier for people to remember. I bought my first 40k models earlier this year. I got Dark Vengeance and after looking at the models, fell even more in love with K-os than I already was from the DoW computer games. Some good awesome sauce there.

So I traded off the Dark Angels I had (save the Space Marines who are acting as Dopple Marines right now until I start doing some customizing and their Force Commander and Librarian, the Librarian of which is acting as my Warlord Sorcerer right now, which I could get into more detail about later) for more Dark Vengeance Chaos. Pretty much the Cultists, Chosen, Chaos Lord and Helbrute. For Terminators and Bikes...ugh. I shoulda kept them but anyways, lessons of the newb I suppose.

I live in Plano, Texas, USA, Eye Of Terror. Trying to find games, and that's more or less what brought me here. From there I'd like to learn how to paint a little better and get my armies looking particularly dark and flaming, rather than Dead Pool, which they are now.

Currently rocking
-2, 6 man squads of Chosen with Chaos Lords leading them, although for all intents and purposes they're usually just Chosen Champions.
-2 Helbrutes
-1 13 man squad of Dopple Marines
-1 20 man squad of Cultists w/ a Dark Apostle leading them
-1 Chaos Sorcerer
-1 Dark Angels Librarian acting as my Warlord Sorcerer
-1 Heldrake
-1, 9 pile squad of Nurglings (which in hindsight may get broken up into 3 squads of 3 since I don't have a Ku'gath to send with them yet)

And I believe that's it. Very scarce, very scattered and very proxied list since Draznitch's Ravagers are kitted all over the place. I really want to get a Land Raider or Rhino next, since I need transports and vehicles, but I also need more troops and some firepower, so I'm looking at CSM's, Noise Marines and Havoks.

<3's me some Alpha Legion. Really want to find more books and such that have to deal with them, just so I can get a better idea of what all they perpetrate. Absolutely loved their story in Treacheries of the Space Marines. If you haven't read, it is awesome. I believe the story is "We are One?" Good stuff.

I like a lot of what's been done recent'y with the Alpha Legion, but I am a bt concerned about where they're heading with them too...

Also, Knightley and Byte are two users who apparently have macros programed into their computers - they seem to welcome everyone here with cookie cutter 'hello' messages, not at all like the personally crafted messages I hand out!

I'm still trying to find more about Alpha Legion. I did get a promising lead after Prospero, which is another section of the Horus Heresy I'm looking forward too. Currently on Fulgrim, although I just finished reading Ahriman:Exile. Good book and would make a good movie too.

The DV chosen are pretty sweet looking, especially with the paint jobs I threw on them (hope to get pictures up soon). I call them my "Dead Pool" army. lol Black and Red and Red and Black. I'm gonna have to chop them up though because they're kits are pretty terrible. I do like the "gun" models though. Proxy-ing isn't a big deal with those guys except when you have to explain their Combi-Bolters are actually Combi-Melta's/Plasma/etc.
