I have 10 Jump marines with chainswords and serg with power weapon. I'm repainting them to become Death Company. Who should lead them, there are a few fluffy IC's out there, but who works best?

Also any minor adjustments I should make to their weapons, I should have enough bitz to make a couple changes?

Captain TYCHO !!!!!

Plus with the Senguary guard kit (sorry for the spelling) you could turn his model in to a very dynamic commander

If going dc army - astorath. If not - lemartes. 500pt minimum is an expensive unit for 11 models though...

Btw the dc models are so much better than the assault marine models and you get a ton of bitz.

They'll walk over 10 marines in one turn though, maybe a little too much.

One question though, why does Lemartes have Descent of the Angels if Death Company doesn't? Doesn't the entire unit need it in order to use that ability?

That is very true. Don't get me wrong - I love death co!
And that is a very good question I do not have an answer for...
Anyone?

I'd second the above. Astorath if you want more than 1 squad, lemartes if you just want the one (as Astorath is very vulnerable to S8+ and could easily give up STW, lemartes has no risk and gets stronger when he takes damage, and is cheaper to boot).

Back in 5th I used Astorath and a unit of 6-7 DC with Jump Packs in quite a few games and they rarely disappointed. With the new changes in 6th, particularly in regards to Rage and FNP, they're generally considered to be better than before. However, I personally would consider taking a Librarian with Jump Pack to lead them, there are several powers available to him that could greatly increase both the offensive and defensive powers of the DC.

No one. They work fine alone.

^all of the above. Basically anybody or nobody works just fine!

Actually... maybe not anybody - captains are still pants!

So, you're all saying, I should choose for myself

I guess it's all about what special abilities I want. I'll get the codex out.
