So white primer filled in one section because you dropped one? Strip it and start over?

can someone tell me exactly how they use white primer, e.g flat surface, "how much" to use, etc. etc.

You need to "dust". Holding the top and hoping to get a thick layer won't work. Spray from 8~ inches away in sweeping motions. Light coats are always the best.

2-3 passes, very light coats. Distance about the length of my forearm (no further). If able, I do a light pass on a bunch of models, letting a batch dry before coating with the next pass.

Well I dont see how it is any different than black primer lol
When I use white primer (Army Painter or GW) I just shake the can like crazy then just do a really light spray with the primer just a couple short bursts so it covers the mini.
When I prime them tho it is usually just a light coat and can still see a little grey in the area but thats because it is just to help paint stick.
I use plier to hold up the mini maybe 20cm away from the spray can and start the spray not on the mini but beside it and swipe the spray can across the mini this avoid excess, bubbles, spots etc.
I have had no problem with detailed surfaces or anything. Also if it is really humid out the paint takes longer to dry and CAN pool in places if you use heavy amounts of primer.
Hope that helps

Not just white primer, all primers and any paints being sprayed, be it from can or airbrush or even bigger hvlp spray guns and pressure pots...
Always do a light dusty coat first (in the spray industry this is known as a tack coat), then when that has had chance for any solvents to evaporate, spray a slightly heavier coat (not too wet) let dry and repeat untill desired coverage is reached.
Spraying things too wet invites runs in your job. And will cake in the details.

I feel extremely stupid, I didn't shake the can, I was on a grass surface (on a piece of paper) I was spraying from 2 inches away. hold on a minute and im gonna go try again with a different model.

Let us know how it works I am sure you'll get better results!
Short controlled sprays are key aswell

Right on good to hear!
It just takes practice to get the perfect amount of primer but once you know how much to put on you will do it perfect everytime!

Ya actually when I first started painting I got blotched, spotted, paint drowned models from priming it was awful.
Finally learned the technique and now I spray like a champ!
Now only if I could throw dice like a champ *Sigh*
