So I've been on a buying spree picking up a lot of second hand Ork stuff for me to work on, and while I am going to have a lot of my hobby time spent working on them, I'm brain storming in the far future for allies for them. For most armies I will do some kind of bastardised Ork version of them, for example Necrons would basically be orks with looted gubbinz appropriate to the army, same for most other armies really. For IG, I want to try to create a Digganob force in homage to Gorkamorka, which is what made me fall in love with Orks as a kid.

Now vehicles and stuff will be easy, as I can just take the IG kits and make them ramshackle, but I'm trying to figure out how I can kit out infantry to where they fit the Digganob ideal. I was looking at using Chaos Marauders for a basis, with maybe Catachan arms. I have some Gorkamorka weapon sprues but only a handful of assault rifle type guns from there, so I would need to look into third party assault rifle type bits that are scaled for humans. Not sure how I would go about legs for heavy weapon teams and such either. Any thoughts on where I should look for bits/inspiration would be appreciated.

Great idea for a IG ally to Ork!

I would consider the Ungor's body and arms. They don't look as big as the Catachans.

plenty or ork accessories would be good for their uniforms. I was browsing the web in search of the digganob cover to show what I mean and found a nice conversion of mr. frontcover:

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Ooo, that does look nice. I found a quick and easy way to turn lasguns into autoguns from Heresy Online (http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94244 where I can just add in some plasticard plates, rivets, and stocks to the guns to make them look non standard, which will have the added bonus of knowing that the guns will fit the arm spacing.

Now I will need to find a way to do heavy weapon troopers for them, probably with a standing team, so maybe I will figure out more of a raised up gun emplacement or a man mounted system like a loota so I don't have to figure out kneeling or prone legs.

For HWTs, you could always have one guy holding the gun up (on his shoulders or back) while the other fires it. With a 60mm base you've got scope to do a lot with posing, so go mad.
