It seems there is a lot of love for 50 pt AV11 Psybacks, giving two S6 AP4 hits with a 40" threat range.

Why no love for 60 pt AV10 Imperial Fist landspeeders? They give five S5 AP4 hits with a 48" threat range, which gives one-and-a-half times as much killiness against T3 and T4 infantry, their common target.

Their mobility and jink save also make them arguably just as survivable if not more, especially as they have no transport objectives to achieve (ie. having to take troops into a firefight). They are able to "kite" around outside of small arms threat range with ease.

Their mobility also enables them to be effective for more turns as they can position and reposition themselves quickly (again, without transport requirements).

For instance, a squadron of 3 double bolter landspeeders would cost 180 pts for 15 hits, probably from turn 1 onwards. That's rather juicy no?

Land Speeders don't have Chapter Tactics so don't benefit from Bolter Drill

Because your still better off with a Cyclone firing frag and giving you an option to fire krak against anything that isn't AV 14.

There is a difference between 'common target' and making it your 'only target'. Mech lists are not /that/ uncommon, and if you face one, your wasting all of your shots till you pop them. And heaven help you if it is Land Raiders. Sure, the Cyclones are just as screwed as the HBs against AV 14, but if you face AV 12, now you can do something about it.

That Cyclone is just to good, even for a few more points.

Why wouldn't all bolters get bolter drill even if mounted on a vehicl. So does that mean onlt tac squads get bolter drill

All units with Chapter Tactics as a rule get the benefits of Chapter Tactics.

Check to see if Land Speeders have Chapter Tactics.

So useing IF chapter rule is not as good as it seems. i wasgoing to build 3units of attack bikes with HB but they won't work with the IF chapter rule only tac squads get so does ever one say IF rule is so good

Make note of what units have the Chapter Tactics special rule and which ones don't. Then plan an army around that.

CrownAxe is correct, landspeeders do not have chapter tactics

Yes i have the book but the IF chapter rule is not that good because its very limiting as to what can use it so half ur army if not more will not be able to use
