You can get the parts you need here.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

The parts don't fit perfectly with the plasic kit (i.e. the resin torso fronts are not as wide as the plastic backs) but they aren't too difficult to work with. Just keep in mind it's finecast, so there's a really high chance of you needing to fill in air bubbles/holes.

Ebay for the old metal ones is your best bet. Unless you have unlimited funds and can buy the forgeworld pre heresy ones. The new finecast upgrade kit sucks.

Nightlords 2,750 Points
Tzeentch Daemons 2250 Points
Nurgle Daemons 1750 Points
Death Guard 2250 Points

While I would normally agree that anything finecast is less than stellar. I play with a person that fields a Thousand Suns army and used a ton of the upgrade kits... Either he was lucky or it was an act of God but he made them look amazing as a final product.

Points I must disagree with:
1) FW don't currently make any 1k Sons models. You'll be waiting until about May/June next year for them.
2) For the love of god, don't buy the metal models. At least you can easily reposition the Finecast. If your metal 1k Sons have misaligned mould lines, you're fethed. I speak from experience, the metal 1k Sons are the worst models I have ever assembled.

I was browsing eBay earlier today and there was an entire Thousand Sons army, in very good condition, for what I thought was a reasonable price. Certainly comparable to acquiring models and bits from GW.

There's also postings for individual squads and sorcerers and the like. I would get what I could on eBay, and then pick up the rest of what I needed from the Games Workshop website.

How many thousand sons can you make with a single kit?

The kit contains six front torsos, four arms, two bolters, five heads, four shoulder pads, two loin cloths and a sorcerer.

...It depends on how much you space out the bits in your CSM squad, I suppose? Up to five I'd assume since everyone wants that head.

Fixed this for you.
It makes a squad of eight and one sorcerer, although it's really only the heads which matter.

I'm also using the Tzeentchian champion's helm and the helm split down the front to make 9th Sons, to make an even 10 in a squad. These have other parts on them and a paint job to denote them as such, too. So if you spread the bits cleanly, there's definitely room to make 9 guys + the sorcerer from the kit.
