I've talked to a couple buddies at work about it, and they all seemed to enjoy it. They all basically agreed that it's a re-hash of the previous titles, but still a fun way to waste time with friends.
Agreed, bots, high end streaks and 17+ class slots = really good fun with friends. Hopefully this'll translate over to this except with juggernauts an cooler guns and attachments!

Why do you need 17+ class slots? I get by with like 2 to 3.

Yeah... same old good fun...
One thing I have noticed is that the maps are larger in general.
Just got the Honey Badger last night... I'm liking it. I wonder if I can dual wield that?
I'm one of about three people who enjoyed the Modern Warfare / 2 / 3 story, but I know nothing at all about Ghosts. Is this still twenty minutes into the future fighting non-specific Middle Easterners and Russian ultranationalists stuff or what?

Im person 2. Ya its dumb but I can still enjoy it. (Also, dont fool yourself, you spent like all of MW 1 in Saudi Arabia with the last level in Iraq (somehow)
No. The Mid East had finally gone slowed and nuked itself to Oblivion leaving the South America as the biggest exporter of oil and the other nations on earth have economic melt downs. South America creates and new nation and the story is about them invading America. Im still on the fence about it. On one hand its South America becoming a super power and pulverizing the US, on the other hand, at least its not taking place in the mid east.

The game is a lazy rehash to the point it stopped being funny. They literally copy pasted the MW3 ending into the game.
The pc system specs are horse doodie and an all out lie to make the game sound "Next Gen". You need +4gb of RAM else it doesn't start up. But the game barely uses 1,2 gb RAM in reality. The hd space needed to instal that game is a sham to. Do you really need 40 gigs of fish ai and a dog?
Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.
Just played it at my friends house on 360. It's a rehash with respectable work done to the perks and a currency system for equipment/weapon unlocks so you can have what perks/stuff you want for the grind sooner.
A couple changes to some game modes to make it interesting.. Just something to get everyone started on the new console. The saddest part is that my coworkers are going to be on PS4 and my buddies on XB1.. 1st world problems suck.
I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works.
All I'm gonna say is that the pc version is an atrocity . personally not going to buy it. Don't get me wrong, if others enjoy the game... nothing against them. A game that is heavily itterative isn't necessarily bad but for me I've lost interest entirely.
From the reviews I've seen, CoD:Ghost's single player is basically every CoD series' single player ever. Including that if you do anything even REMOTELY off script, you die.
More interested in a review of multiplayer; if that's good, I might bother to pick it up if it gets in to the bargain bin.

I guess all 3 of us frequent Dakka. I bought MW2 because I was in the middle of my FPS mode, and I wanted to see the story (CoD4 was one of my favorite PC games for awhile). I bought MW3 simply so I could see the end of the story, I barely played the multiplayer and the same went with Black Ops 1 and 2, though I did play the gak out of Black Ops 1 simply because of a girl I was hanging out with at the time.

I wanted to like the Call of Duty series. I loved Modern Warfare and played it to death. I thought that the campaign was fantastic, and that the multiplayer was pretty balanced. On the strength of that alone I got W@W and MW2. I was woefully disappointed with both. W@W felt like a re-skinned MW, and MW2 just had a terrible storyline that was turned to up 11 all the time and the multiplayer wasn't great either.
I haven't played another CoD game since. I did consider getting MW3 just to finish the storyline but I just can't.

I actually borrowed my brother's copy of MW3 to finish the campaign...you're not missing much. Just look up the wiki page
COD 2 was the last decent Call of Duty game. I could tell Modern Warfare was going to be crap as soon as the "storyline" kicked off, ugh. Why do people still buy this when it is simply the exact same game as before?

I thought that it was nice that IW tried to sell Ghosts with brand new features to the series that have been staples of other games (like character customisation)
Although they did beat Battlefield to the punch regarding female soldiers.
Mind you, almost every other new non-AAA game which focuses on multiplayer is adding them/had them from the start way before either cod or b'field do. So this is less an accomplishment and more a "what the feth took you so long you fething morons?"

I can't wait until they let us start playing as the dogs.

BF4 has, at the moment, two female character models and both are Russian.
In regards to "Ghost", I really want to know how Extinction plays. That's a deciding factor for me.

Pidgeonholing women in to specific classes or factions in a game like this is always stupid.

Agreed.
I'm kind of happy they haven't gone and made it a "defining feature" of the game though. BF has never really done player customization beyond camo colors and with the number of players present on a map at the time, the number of concealed or obscured faces and people wearing full combat gear it's kind of a moot point.
