The XV11 Diplomat Battlesuit is an early model of semi-powered suit that is meant to interlock over standard issue infantry armor. This development came as a response to rising Water caste casualties on Imperial worlds during negotiations that suddenly broke down. One of the tricky facets of diplomacy is projecting the right amount of strength to appear strong, without projecting so much as to appear threatening. The suit is carried in a suspensor-fitted quantum case by the attending Fire Warrior bodyguards, and only donned when the situation has suddenly escalated. Early malfunctions claimed the lives of several of the early test pilots, and one recent incident saw a case mistakenly packed with the warrior's limited edition Por'Vre inflatable companion module. Upon the case's deployment, the warrior was suffocated in an airtight cocoon of hyper realistic blue simu-skin (tm).

Very cool, I'm just about to start up some Tau allies and I like the white paint scheme a lot. Are they pig iron heads?

The armour looks really good.... Although, toting a huge cannon might also fit the definition of 'threatening'

I'm not a fan of the purple helmets, but I guess it adds some variation. I really like the white on the armour though.

@Jihadnik: Yes, those are Pig Iron heads. Actually not the specific heads that I ordered, but they worked out nonetheless.

@Barksdale: The rest of my army is mostly purple. This squad's color scheme is meant to be really divergent, but I wanted the helmet to tie them together with the rest of my guys.

There's a Water Caste envoy/samurai who goes with the squad and counts as the Shas'ui, but I wasn't quite inspired enough to paint that guy yet. He's got to stand out a bit with his color scheme.

Actually, this is one of two Fire Warrior contingents that make up my army's basic troops choices, one being the featured Diplomats and the others being the Desert Pimps. One of the things I hope for from this squad is that they attract an extra helping of firepower from the enemy. It's easy to look at these guys and make the mistake of thinking they're a command squad or some other scary thing worthy of immediate extermination. Every single unit in my army is heavily (HEAVILY) converted, so this was meant to put this unit apart from the Desert Pimps and create an up-armored version of the Fire Warrior.

I like the overall look of the models but I'm not particularly fond of the heads to be honest. Are the shoulders different from the metal stealth suits? They seem bulkier but it's been a while since I saw them in person.

Those heads are from Pig Iron, a third party company that sells alternative models and lots of conversion bits. These are actually not the right heads that I ordered, but since I had them I made them work.

Love those pig iron heads! The fluff sounds great and I like the concept. I would have still gone with white just for the sake of it looking more natural though. The purple kinda looks.. odd
