So, let me know if there is fault in my thinking and i am breaking the rules.

If i have Khan on his Bike, he has "hit & run" (as per white scars chapter tactics) and scout from his own "master of the hunt" rule
Now, both rules are conveyed to the unit he joins.

According to this, if at the start of the game i have Khan join a unit of centurion devastators, it seems that the whole unit can scout forward and they also gain hit and run (although white scars tactic excludes bulky models)

Is this correct?

Partly correct. They indeed gain Scout, as Khan has it (assuming he is the Warlord) and only one model in the unit needs it for it to work.

However, the White Scars chapter tactic says that models only gain Hit & Run if there are no models in Terminator armour or Centurions in the unit. As there are obviously Centurions in Khan's unit, he does not gain Hit & Run, and can't 'transfer' it to the Centurions.

I could agrue on the second one.
Centurions do not get hit & run in the first place from the chapter tactics, if they are alone as a unit.
However, there is nothing prohibiting them gaining hit & run as part of a unit that has a model with hit & run.

Well thats in direct contradiciton of the rule about not getting if it there is Terminators / Centurions.

Thats beyond explotiation IMO

Oh yes, if a model with Hit & Run joins them, they can use it without issue. However, Khan doesn't have the Hit & Run rule, he has the Fight on the Move rule, which only grants Hit & Run under certain conditions. If he is joined to a Centurion unit, those conditions are not met.

It also works the other way around. For example, if you would join a Terminator Captain to a White Scars Tactical Squad, the Tactical Squad would lose the Hit & Run rule, and regains it once the Terminator Captain leaves the unit.

This reasoning makes total sense,
thanks!

Never use terminator armor in a white scars army.

Centaurians are only taken in a WS list if they have a dedicated land raider (which can scout).
