A nice 30 year sentence for the unlawful possession of of printed firearms and this problem basically goes away.

Much like the distinct possibility of a life sentence for meth possession over a certain amount instantly curbed the problem. Oh wait.

Besides that, define "Printed firearm" for me please. Is it a firearm that is 100% printed, comes out of the machine in an assemble and fire state? I'm betting the one in OP isn't. There was some amount of hand finishing/fitting or machining done to those parts after they came out of the printer. If you're talking anything more powerful than a small handgun like in the OP, you might just be factoring in some pretty decent heat treat issues as well.

Is the receiver that is the only part that actually needs a license to manufacture? And is that only if you sell it?

Yep. Serial numbers are encouraged but not required by BATFE unless you sell it, and you don't need a FFL unless you're going to be selling the things. State laws may be more restrictive. You must comply with 922(R) even though its yet more nonsensical government meddling, and you still need to follow the NFA regulations if you want to make anything unusual like a sawed off shotgun.

wtf is with that noticeable delay on the slide return when it's returning to battery between shots?

Welcome to the 1911: King of feedway stoppages. My money would be on a worn out/damaged mag, or rough surfaces on the feed ramp or slide rails. Both are easy to fix, but annoying.

The future has been incredibly disappointing so far. Still no flying cars, either.

Yea we were supposed to live on the moon and have jet packs too. I think the problem with predicting the future of technology, is we don't understand the requirements to make that crap happen. We DO have lazors.... just in big ass plane and boats to shoot missiles.problem is it's just easier and more efficient to make a force field out of bullets than an actual force field

But it wasn't a FTF, the slide did - by itself - return to battery. It just paused thoughtfully for a second on the way. It seems like if there was a burr it would have just jammed, not pushed - but I suppose your explanation is the most plausible so far.

I wonder how well the chamber and ramp will hold up to the pressure.

Correct, when this starts happening, you are this || close to a failure to go into battery. Usually it's not a big deal, you smack the back of the slide with the heel of your hand and you are good to go, and unless it IS a damaged magazine, it'll likely wear in down the road....but still not a good sign.

They picked the right cartridge for this. .45 ACP is a low pressure round by default. I'd expect the metal will hold up quite well given the circumstances.
