Had this in mind was wondering if anybody had suggestions on how to get this into 1850 points and if there were other viable options beside basic cultists spam to fill in the remaining points.

Typhus- 230pts

Heldrake- 170pts
Heldrake- 170pts
Heldrake- 170pts

Obliterators x3 with MoN - 228pts

With the amount of points you have left and the fact you're using typhus, the best option would be zombies

Know you were looking for something else, but thats the best option

so convert the cultists to zombies.
That would be 10x zombies for 50pts and can make units up to 25 for 4pts/model totaling
25 zombie cultists for 110pts

so your saying the most optimal and devastating way to make this list lethal is have the following?
Also, what kind of upgrades does Typhus need to make him optimal? I'll take those points out of the zombie cultists.

Typhus- 230pts

Heldrake- 170pts
Heldrake- 170pts
Heldrake- 170pts

Obliterators x3 with MoN - 228pts
Obliterators x3 with MoN - 228pts
Obliterators x3 with MoN - 228pts

Zombie Cultists x25 - 110 pts
Zombie Cultists x25 - 110 pts
Zombie Cultists x25 - 110 pts
Zombie Cultists x21 - 94 pts
1848/1850

I'm open to other tweaks in the list to make it the most optimal and annoying list to go up against, so it doesn't have to be typhus as the HQ.
I appreciate your feedback though and hope to get some more input!

*edit* and if that's the best option, that's what I'll go with. Want this to be the nastiest CSM list at 1850 pts.

I tried to not change anything really except for the HQ...

HQ:
Chaos Lord (MoN, PA, SoC, LC, PF, melta bombs)
150 points

Troops:
10x cultists
10x cultists
7x PM (2x PG, champ has melta bombs)
7x PM (2x PG, champ has melta bombs)

506 points.

The troops are still not the strongest but is another option without changing much. Another sad thing is that the PM would be footslogging- sad day

like I said, zombie cultists would be the best option- typhus is good as is

so looks like the final list to maximize CSM efficiency at 1850 points for tournaments includes the following and totals to 102 Units on the board:
Typhus- 230pts

Heldrake w/ Baleflamer- 170pts
Heldrake w/ Baleflamer- 170pts
Heldrake w/ Baleflamer- 170pts

Obliterators x3 with MoN - 228pts
Obliterators x3 with MoN - 228pts
Obliterators x3 with MoN - 228pts

Plague Zombies x35 - 150pts
Plague Zombies x35 - 150pts
Plague Zombies x19 - 126pts

1850/1850 Pts

*edit: added 3rd Baleflamer, so this looks ideal?*

You might as well take another baleflamer on the autocannon Heldrake. Daemon are naturally bs3 so consider that.

2000 points of CSM undivided
1000 points of Eldar (Craftworld Happyland)

That is a very ouchy looking list. Looks very painful to play against. Couldn't imagine trying to wipe out all those troop choices aswell as 3 hell drakes and 9 oblits. Looks ace man.

Thanks. I got to buy a few things since my last csm list is slightly outdated since it was right before held rakes released. That was when I had khorne zerkers in rhinos with a power fist in each unit. But eager to have this list done thru the holidays. Just going to be tedious painting three heldrakes.
But between 3 heldrakes and 9 obliterators , it's going to be a painful list and probably can't overuse it in friendlier settings since it seems extremely aggressive.

Also how are defilers performing these days?

Defilers cost too much to justify and amount of good performance due to having av12 and 3 hp.

To make this cheesier, ally black legion to get a total of 12 oblits and 4 bale drakes.

Anybody able to elaborate how this would look for a legal 1850 pt list, I'm eager to see if 12 oblits and 4 bale drakes would be legal with Black Legion Ally's....but it sounds incredibly nasty.

It's legal, trust him lol

the next squad of oblits would need VotLW though- per the tax

hm... hate to ask you to do some of the dirty work, but how would that look with the list written out?
Also , would it be more viable you think? it sounds brutal with 4 dragons in the air and 12 obliterators annihilating things together.

It would be very light on troops... gimme a second

Automatically Appended Next Post:
It's not even really viable... This is what it would look like if you had both 4 squads of oblits and 4 heldrakes

Primary:

HQ:
Sorcerer

Troops:
10x cultists
10x cultists

Heavy Support:
3x MoN oblits
3x MoN oblits
3x MoS oblits

Fast Attack:
3x Baledrake

Allied:

HQ:
Sorcerer (VotLW)

Troops:
10x cultists

Heavy Support:
3x MoS oblits (VotLW)

Fast attack:
1x Baledrake

Total of 1846 points

yeah so an extreme glass cannon build basically would end up losing more of the expensive units since there wouldn't be much protection from the cultists to spam.
I see what your saying just had to see it on paper / typed out.
You think for a 2k points level, that would be the way to go ? and just cultists to fill in the remaining 150?

Generally tourney's are 1850, but just meant for when the 2k games are played.

it could work for a 1999 point game, each squad of cultists would have 22/23 bodies (3 units= around 66 bodies). But sometimes just having 3 heldrakes is enough and a 4th isn't really necessary. The list you have right now is fine how it is without another heldrake or squad of oblits.

Also, trust filch about the defiler. I don't like them much for what they give either

yeah i'll probably leave it with 3x 3 oblits and 3x baledrakes.

Love the feedback and insight from tossing ideas around in this thread.
Was looking to bring the CSM's back from board-rust and into action and this is definitely a strong list to incorporate.

Looking forward to picking up the remaining models and getting some practice with it , may even try it against my eldar 1850s I got carried away with.

Haha alright, I usually try to make odd (slightly themed lists). I actually focus on playing with NM. Know how to play PM but I'm just more shooty, I probably should have started with tau as my army... But yea, if you want any feedback/suggestion let me know!

Alright!
Going to try to get these painted before I get involved in other lists (I have a bad problem about that and having some predominantly grey blocks in fantasy)
