It's paladin's so I'm assuming that this is a casual list.

I'd recommend against the heavy psycannon on the NDK. This saves you the points that you'll need to give both the Palis and dreadnought psyammo. With the remaining points, you could get a combination of mastercrafted hammers, psycannons, or servo-skulls on the Inq to taste.

It is, I play a Eldar player regularly and have had hard time keeping my SS alive with all the ap2 fire and the quantity shots fired at them. Where I play it's hard to keep them in cover plus he has weapons that ignore it so they take a beating. Don't know if I'm missing some kinda of tactical advantage with them to counter all that or if Eldar are just Grey knight bane.

Would you say that paladins are then bad, or at least not good enough to give a 'competitive' advantage?

And since psycannons are usually a 'must-have' (at least that's the vibe I get from people on the internet) I would have assumed that the heavy one is a big yes - large blast, strength 7 and rending seems good.

These are genuine questions - no sarcastic or argumentative undertones here

The heavy psycanon is not so good :
- if properly spaced, you will not hit so many ennemies
- it has poor range
- it is expensive
- it has only AP4
- it will be redundant with your incinerator

I would try to get an apothecary on the paladin squad, it really beefs them up

I guess then it would work well with certain armies then - tyranids would get pretty upset by it.

I'd replace the Ordo Malleus inquisitor with Coteaz. 10 pts cheaper and LVL 2 mastery.
I second that the heavy psycannon isn't worth it.
Plus your list doesn't seem to be legal because you only have one squad of paladins that you are going to combat squad. If you save enough points you can then have a second squad of a solo paladin to drop in the backfield to harrass your enemies poorly defended objectives.

When I first put my dreadknight together, I was sure that heavy psycannon was a winner despite what people said about it. Trust me brother, save yourself the time and pain, it's not worth it. Spend those points elsewhere. To a lesser extent I'd say the same with the greatsword. Some people swear by it, but personally I haven't found it worth the points. He's already a beast in combat, so it's really only against similar sized threats that it becomes a factor. If your usual Eldar opponent isn't taking big combat beasts, I'd leave the greatsword at home. The psybolts are an absolute must IMO for the dreads, but it looks like you've included them in the pointscost. If only 6 paladins have stormbolters, it's a decent upgrade but not necessary. I think that either Coteaz or the Inq you've got are fine - different advantages. I'm not sure that either are going to be a great help to you, but they're okay.

I haven't got a lot of experience with Draigo or paladins, only ever used them once. Usually run my GK as mobile MSU with dreadnought + dreadknight + assassin support. For you though, perhaps one suggestion would be to scrap the Inquisitor, heavy psycannon and greatsword, which gives you 175 points back. From there you have a few options:
- Find another few points for a landraider.
- Get a 6 man interceptor squad with an incinerator (would be good against a lot of Eldar lists)
- Get another dreadnought
- Hire an assassin - Celexus could be awesome if he's running a lot of psykers
- get something else!

If you have points left over, and know you're versing Eldar, the heavy psycannon could be worth it. AP4 is not great for take all comers, but if you know who you're up against it can be great.

Good luck mate
