Well heeeeeey! Look what i found ^^
Nice to see more Endless stuff being painted up.

Trust me dude, cameras are evil. Their eyes see every blemish, every mistake.... and blow them up to impossible proportions! (Its why mine tend to be smaller photos )

So curious- What's your skintone recipe? Looks similar to Elf Flesh. Im rather a fan of Tallarn Flesh as a skintone base... Then i use a bit of bleached bone to highlight it up.
Regardless, I find that hitting skin with a brownish-red wash helps warm it up and makes it more tanned.

I also second the suggestion to hit the hair with another small highlight at the tips. Really should make it pop!

Anyways, I'll be following your progress- so far its looking good!

Oh god! We made it to page 2 Gak's gettin' real now.

Good call on the strings TDL, I hit it with some p3 Bootstrap leather (what I do all my leathers in ), and it looks much better. I gave the hair a nice, dark earthshade wash, and hit it with a thin flat earth highlight. Looks good in real life, but I'll take some photos tonight to see how good it really is .

My flesh recipe is so complicated, but Ramos, since you're a fellow Ohioan, I'll share it with you. It's Bugman's Glow from GW, Ogyrn Flesh Wash, Tallarn Flesh layer, leaving the deepest recesses with more of the base and wash visible, and then I hit it with a Sepia wash to tan it up, which is what I had forgotten to do on my Squire originally!

She's looking prim and proper now. I'll probably move on to bright colors and do the Rhapsodist next since I'm a little tired of dark browns and reds.

Also, might have a cool surprise in store for the blog this weekend, if any of you are fans of Secret Weapon Miniatures, then I've got something you might be interested in

Also, pictures of the squire tonight when I get home!

I like suprises! Actually I don't like suprises but I think I know what your planning on painting up...

And because it expected at this point... Your models need a wash.

I plan on doing a few of these at some point, but the Clear Resin rips apart our molds so I gotta make separate ones just for doing that. We already use a dye in the resin, so it wouldn't be hard to make it a translucent color.. I've actually got one that will make it look like Orange Soda...

Orange soda??? Not gunna lie, that would look so friggin cool! But I didnt know that clear resin is such a hooker to molds though. That kindda sucks.....though Id totally buy a slime or 2 if they were clear. Even after the fact that I want to buy some anyways

Speaking of, Im thinking either after I get out of work tomorrow, or sometime this week end Im going to start buying some EFT minis. Im almost certain that Ill buy a dark Priest and a Risen Warrior.....though I also think the Dark Knight looks the tits as well. So either way, Im going to get 2 and paint them up all pretty and snazzy to start!

Update time!

Here's the squire, this pic is badly lit, but you can see the highlights of her hair better. I do not claim to be a professional at this, so be warned!

I thought that mini was a dude with long hair at first, but now I do see a feminine look to it. Nice work Alf seriously your paint skills are much improved from the first ones I've seen you paint. This blog makes me excited

So Alf, are you planning to paint up color themed war bands, or just painting each model as an individual?

I haven't given too much thought to that. The Dwarf I wanted to be like the Metall from Megaman... still don't know where to put the green cross on it. The Cleric was going to be a White Mage based on the source material (now I have a second one, so...) and the Human Gunsmith and Squire were painted to their card art...

I might start painting with livery and colors in mind, but I do like the individuality that I can get with each model...

I'm kicking around an idea for painting the Dark Priest when I get it, and if I can pull if off, it's going to be the most bad ass looking bad guy ever!

Dammit Alf, I need an update already!

here is what I've been working on recently, it's not EFT related, but i wanted to work on something else for a bit.

So, for anyone that doesn't know what those are, they are two of the prototype scrapyard tiles from Secret Weapon miniatures. Each tile is one foot by one foot, so a four by four board would have 16 tiles. I'm still waiting on my kickstarter reward to come in, but I will say this, they are a real nice product.

There was supposed to be an update last Wednesday, but my primer has done the exact opposite of primer... The paint pools on the primer like water and oil... So all my EFT models are taking a little simple green bath for a few days while I sort this gak out.

I'm also trying to figure out what I wanted to do over the next few days/weeks/etc...

I'm thinking I might jump back to Warmachine and Hordes since that's picking up some steam at my store, and it'd be nice to paint up some more trolls.

Whoo!

So update time. Had to switch over to Warmahordes while I wait on some wintertime primer (i.e. vallejo surface primer) so I can airbrush it on during the winter months.

Here are a few figs I've had primed for a long while now.

They're the Sons of Bragg, a character unit for the Trollbloods faction. Faces are still a work in progress though.

Interesting. I know nothing of warmahordes, are the trollblood things usually that shade? It's interesting to say the least. Looks like they're coming along well
