Hi, advice would be appreciated. Total beginner (me) is preparing (very slowly) for first game. Which means I must assemble my IG army on "blind".
Games will be played on 1000pts and with special rules - 1HQ, 0-2FA, 0-2E, 0-2HS, no duplicity of unites except troop, no vehicle with side armor 13+, only one vehicle with front armor 13+, 1 flyer or flying MC, max 2 MC with T5+.

Because I only started buying and assembling models, games will be played with what I got and maybe wouldnt play in future (well, it means I will play two sentinels)

So far I have very rough image in my head .

CCS - vox, standard, astropath, MoO?
PCS - Infantry Squad 30 men - commisar (backsitting blob)
Infrantry Squad 10-20 men - commisar (objective takers)
Veterans - melta?, chimera?
Stormtroopers - 5-10
1-2 sentinels - probably scout, AC, Hunter-killer missile
vendetta (but maybe valkyrie, I dont like "hey, you MUST play vendetta, not valkyrie)
basilisk
marbo

Idea is have 30 men blob + PCS and CCS sitting behind and Vets, second infantry squad carefully go forward with support from basilisk. Sentinel(s), marbo, stormtroopers and vendetta should provide pressure from another part of battlefield.

I cant take my vanquisher because of 13+ rules. In normal circumstances I would stick in as many lascannons as possible, but here... I dont know, with such rules, if lascannon in every HWT wouldnt be overkill. But, as newbie, I have no idea what can different armies bring that fits into rules and is good candidate for lascannon cure.

So...what would you recommend in HWT? I was thinking about autocannons, stick autocannon on sentinel(s), give PCS flamers... Still dint know what to give stormtroopers (but I generally love their style, so I wont drop them), what for Vets...

For the support, choice is Basilisk with maybe MoO. Or add some mortars to HWTs? Or send PCS in chimera forward? Am I making some basic mistakes? Thanks for any tips

Being optimistic“s worthless if it means ignoring the suffering of this world. Worse than worthless. It“s bloody evil.

I'm not the best top ranked player, however, been playing IG for years now, and, I'm decent enough.

Voxes: I'm not sold on them. they are handy, and help to get the orders off, you just need to have a vox in both the unit issueing the order and the unit recieving the order.

PCS and Infantry squad: I don't play mass infantry, so, I'm not the best to ask. I think two squads combined with a commissar is good for sitting on an objective. I would not waste points on special weapons with infantry squads, however, heavy weapons (auto cannon, las cannon) should be auto take.

Vets: It is either plasma or melta x3. Either in a chimera or ride in a valk/vendetta. some times snipers/flamers are good, but, it has to be a squad built for that sort of thing.

Storm troopers: I like them. 5 man squads have worked best in my opinion. I run two, have run one big in the past, but, they are a suicide unit. I run plasma gun x2 with plasma pistol and the other 5 man is melta gun x2. I prefer to deep strike them.

Marbo. enough can not be said about this 65 point greatness. He is fragile, but, he clears objectives.

Sentinels. Only way to run them in my opinion is scouts. either multi laser, auto cannon, or las cannon. always hold in reserve.

Vlak/vendetta: vendetta is the better option.

Basilisk: I like it, AP3 makes it great. I prefer Leman Russ exterminator over all other armor though.

However, with the armor 13 rule, I would go with the hell hound over basilisk. It is pretty beast in small point games.
