Hi guys, so with the release of the new inquisition codex there are a new set of rules for the Condemnor Boltgun.

The original rule in the new sisters codex was a peril of the warp on a hit.
The ruling in the inquisition codex is perils of the warp on a wound, which is a serious nerf!

Do the rules for the sisters still apply when fielding a sisters of battle force? Or have they been overridden?

If not then if you take a sisters of battle force with allies of inquisition which way does the Boltgun work?

Very confused now so opinions and discussion more than welcome!

Until it is Errata'd in a FAQ, use the rule from the Codex relevant to the model - a SoB will use the SoB rule and an Inquisitor will use the rule in C: Inquisition.

It's not as much of a nerf as you'd think, the Inquisition Condemner's can work against Psykers hidden in units, while the Sororitas one can't.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

My understanding is that the Sisters codex has since been updated to inflict perils on unsaved wounds, just like the Grey Knight (post FAQ) and Inquisition lists.

So assuming you're using FAQs and updated codices, they should all act the same.

How do you update your codex you bought as an ebook from the black library? And also it is absolutely shocking now as from reading it I understand you have to wound the psyker hidden in the squad which is an impossible task. Before you just had to hit the squad they were hidden in......

You should be able to go back to the Black Library page, give them your account credentials, and download an updated copy. Such is my understanding, anyway (haven't had to do it, myself)

Quote from the codex itself, 'any psyker who takes an unsaved wound from the weapon suffers a perils of the warp attack in addition to any other effects

Yeah they nerfed them - maybe the screams of the Eldar Seers and Daemons convinced them................

Precision shots, tank sniping, cover sniping, focus fire, far from impossible.

Before you just had to hit the squad they were hidden in......

Sure, if you were up against Grey Knights or Heralds of Tzeentch in Horror units, against anything else they were useless.

Still It was an answer to the screamer star. And I know it's not literally an impossible task. I just meant an impossible task using Condemnor boltguns as they are too expensive to waste killing the rest of the squad. And also tanks can't take Condemnor boltguns so you can't tank snipe a psyker with a Condemnor. There no point focus firing a squad to shoot the psyker with a Condemnor when you could spend the points on more fire power which would now do the same job and would be more effective against a wider range of targets. The Condemnor has now become utterly useless

No, it wasn't an answer to a screamer star.
The Sisters Condemnor has to hit a psyker! not hit a unit containing a Psyker.

The Sisters codex Condemnor is useless as written.

It wasn't an answer to the Screamerstar, a Screamer unit has neither of the Psyker or Brotherhood of Psykers special rules, Sororitas Condemners were completely useless vs Screamerstar. Also, Tank sniping is when you use a tank to limit your own models' line of sight to shoot at hidden characters/special weapons/etc.

I'll pass on the Condemnors as always if they're back to being useless. When in doubt ask the Exorcist to play a tune - it seems to work on any psyker I've seen to date.

edit: useless as in AP- weapon that needs to inflict an unsaved wound - there's very few units/psykers it's useful against. Points better spent on an extra heavy flamer or something.

Well it used to nail the heralds and guys who held the grimoire, therefore negating their awesome inv save. And I didn't realise tank sniping was what you described, sounds like a neat trick, I apologise.
