It is not about letting a homeless guy live in your house, it is about the same thing that all social injustice is about. Some people have more than they will ever need, while other people have nothing.

If you just want to ignorantly mouth off about life being tough, then that is fair enough. But I hope your house gets robbed by some broke ghetto crackhead. So you learn that social inequality is bad for everyone. What goes around comes around.

Sorry mate, but seriously...... a crackhead has literally brought all his/her woes upon themselves. Yeah, life is tough, but most of us who have jobs/families/lives, etc. just deal with it and move on.... those who turn to drugs don't deal with it, and get basically what they deserve. Yeah, blame the victim and all that, but seriously, the only people i have sympathy for in regards to crackheads/drug addicts, are their clean/sober family members, and the victims of their inevitable crimes (since you suggested that someone's house be robbed by such a person)

My knee jerk reply to your drivel would get me my 10th or 11th account suspension from Dakka. You're not worth it.

What I will say is this: Idealism is cute. You use it to get that hippy chick you just met to touch your weener. You use it when you want to sound enlightened. You know when you don't use it? When you don't have the first fething clue to whom you're speaking. Don't talk to me about social inequality. What the hell do you know about anything? You don't even have fuzz on your nuts, boy. How many meals have you missed? How many jobs did you have in high school to help your parents feed you? While doing all of that, how good did you get your grades so that you could get an academic scholarship to pull yourself out of that gak?

The point I was trying to make is that crime is social issue. I'm not going to say that criminals just need a hug. but I also don't believe that you average crackhead has a genetic predisposition towards being a crackhead. It is a long process that probably starts way before they are born with their grandparents, a cycle of bad parenting that is passed down, poor values, bad role models, lack of education, lack of prospects, possible abuse, anger at their situation, resentment towards he rest of society.

I don't like the people who they become, and I hate that they seem to be too ignorant to ever change. But really I don't think they choose to be bad, they are brought up and made that way. Shoving poor people into ghettos, so we don't have to deal with them just exasperates the problem.

Do I believe that poverty has a direct/indirect impact on crime rates? Of course it does.
