I'm not sold on psymeras, given you have the bastion I would stick one set of cannons inside and one up top. Dropping the 2 psymeras lets you actually take another 3 plasma cannons in the second squad, with enough points for another priest (possibly 2) for either the blob, or to make the plasma-cannnon firers fearless

The Henchman are in the tower. That's why there's a big squad (inside on the Heavy Bolters) and a small squad (up top with the Icarus). The Psymeras are simply fire support.

One problem will be coming up with that many actual Plasma Cannon models as well (time to go dig and see how many servitors I have). If I drop the Psymeras, I can get the Dominions back, but I was going for an abundance of S6 fire (something the list lacks).

That's a lot of plasma death.

I think that is much better.

Six or twelve S6 shots at BS3 without twinlinking are hardly worth the points unfortunately, especially given the chimera needs to remain static to avoid half of those shots becoming snapshots.

I think dropping it down next to one of the Exorcists to protect its side armor could be a decent use while it plunks away at infantry.

Ugh, now I have to find or make a ton of Servitors because I kind of like that list.

If I can dig up 5 points, I could give change the Hereticus to a Malleus and give him Psybolt. He'll be in the bastion so he could make one of the HB S6.

As much as I like plasma cannons, I find many of my opponents will maximize their 2" coherency so that at most I get 2 models under the marker. Flamer templates are a little more forgiving as you can get at a good angle for multiple hits. It's unfortunate C:I doesn't give us access to large blasts unless we take psykers...

The list does have a good amount of scoring units, and I like the inclusion of the Quad Gun as opposed to the Icarus Lascannon. The Quad seems to do better at taking out AV11 flyers, and even AV12 flyers run scared of the Quad.

Yeah, I think I'm okay with this list. And it is almost all painted. Except for the Plasma Cannons that I need to dig up.

Each squad has a different hair color. It just happened that the blond squad had the most models that fit the blob setup.

Why not cull a few bodies from the henchmen squads to get a third little Acolyte squad? Surely having an extra scoring unit, no matter how fragile is worth the 1 KP it might deliver in the one mission that cares about KP.

I hate those tiny squads though. I know they might be effective but can't stand taking them.

I'm going to try making servitors tonight with mechanicus marine bits (from rhino accessory) Flagellants heads and catachan legs. I ordered some storm raven plasma cannons online an we will see if I can make it work.




Devastator Plasma cannons are pretty much perfect. 2 Plastic and 2 Metal so far. Now to dig up two more.

Okay, I got all crazy last night and made them more Grimdark/Fitting with my army.



Flames, scrolls, purity seals and skulls. Antennas to receive commands on the left side since I didn't find any great arms for them. I think it works. Thoughts?

Yep.

Step 1: Assemble basic legs/chest
Step 2: Apply glue to model randomly
Step 3: Roll him around in the bits box until suitable grimdark is achieved.

But yeah, they came out better than I anticipated.

Left to do?
- Prime/Paint 6 Servitors (2 Plasma Cannons pending in the mail)
- Paint 1 Heavy Flamer
- Prime/Paint 'Coteaz' hammer
- Prime/Paint Heavy bolters for Psymera
- Flock bases of newer models ~15 or so
- Magnetize the army to fit in my Tablewar case

And just about two weeks left, plenty of time. I'll have to get a new group shot on my next break.

Is that enough troops? While the henchmen are scoring they're going to be stuck in the bastion for most of the game [and taking a lot of fire]. 5 girl squads without a priest to make them fearless aren't going to be hanging around for long. Lose those two units and you're going to struggle to take objectives.

5 troops at 1750 should be enough.
