So I havent played any 40k for about 10 years and recently started playing again and have gone for IG as played them a little back in the day.
So my questions are fairly simple.

Is it worth using flamers in a pcs to fend off anything getting close?

Are reg standards worth the points in a blob that has a commisar?

Now the mighty russ. I'm going to play mostly marine players a couple of necron and a nasty melee heavy space wolves like at over the next couple of weeks. What's my best bet russ wise?
In my 1500 list I have a Lrbt and an executioner as the plasma cannon seems to good not to take vs marines. Any advice on this or the vansquisher would be handy as I have both.

Lasty the vulture with publishers, worth it or not

Absolutely worth it. Volume of fire kills infantry of all types, and if you can get into rear armor on a tank (with vector dancer to help) you're averaging 6 HP a turn against AV 10 for an almost guaranteed kill. And it's just a fun unit to use, with an awesome model. Really the only reason not to take three of them is that the overpowered Vendetta wants the same FOC slot.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

IG is in a good place. Not a bad army to come back to.
