Hello Dakka, here is my first attempt of making a decent DE+E army list in view of my joining the warhammer world officially. I am still iffy between DE/E and Orks (due to the their release in the Q2-2014) and I'm trying to figure out the army I would enjoy most (with making lists and spamming lots about them with friends.)

Primary Detachment: Dark Eldar

HQ:

Baron (to sit in a relic and such, any suggestion about the HQ is welcome!) - 105

Troops:

10 x Kabalite - Raider (Disintegrator, FF, NS, SR) - 180
10 x Kabalite - Raider (Disintegrator, FF, NS, SR) - 180
10 x Kabalite - Raider (Disintegrator, FF, NS, SR) - 180
5 x Wyches (haywyre Granades) - Venom (Splinter cannon, FF, NS) - 135
5 x Wyches (haywyre Granades) - Venom (Splinter cannon, FF, NS) - 135

Heavy:

Ravager (FF, NS) - 125
Ravager (FF, NS) - 125
Ravager (FF, NS) - 125

Ally: Eldar

HQ:

Farseer (Jetbike, Spear, Mantle) - 160

Troops:

5x Jetbikes - 85
5x Jetbikes - 85

Heavy:

Waithknight - 240

Total: 1860/1750

I guess this should work somehow, still there are 110 points to be trimmed off and would like to hear the opinion of seasoned DE/E players.

Jetbikes for contesting objectives, stopper Wraithknight to pew pew flyers, farseer cause powers (perhaps switch to a cheap autarch?)m the DE part speaks by itself.

Thank you for the help guys, be ready for some Orks list too

The Twilight Zone

The DE part is fine, but the baron is a bit out of place. Don't get me wrong, the baron is an incredible HQ, but you don't really have a good place for him to go. The cheapest option would be a naked haemonculus, dropping a kabalite warrior from a raider and throwing it there. This also saves you some points to help get your list to 1750.

I would certainly keep the farseer over the autarch. Guide/prescience is crucial to twin link your ravagers and wraithknight, which are your only real sources of AT. Haywitches are good too, but getting them there is a bit difficult.

Consider going to 3 man jetbike squads, or running 1 squad of six one squad of three to save points. They are just there to sit in reserve and turbo boost onto an objective.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

This and this were my first two thoughts as well. Baron is a fantastic HQ, in the right list. I'm just not sure if this is the right list for him.

Thanks so much for the feedback guys, really appreciated! May I ask about when Baron would be a nice choice? Surrounded by kabalites for extrawounds or so (ie:Cultists style @ CSM)?

I tweaked the list and got this:

HQ:

Archon (Ghostplate Armor, Clone Field) - 90

Troops:

9 x Kabalite - Raider (Disintegrator, FF, NS, SR) - 171
10 x Kabalite - Raider (Disintegrator, FF, NS, SR) - 180
10 x Kabalite - Raider (Disintegrator, FF, NS, SR) - 180
5 x Wyches (haywyre Granades) - Venom (Splinter cannon, FF, NS) - 135

Heavy:

Ravager (FF, NS) - 125
Ravager (FF, NS) - 125
Ravager (FF, NS) - 125

Ally: Eldar

HQ:

Farseer (Jetbike, Spear, Mantle) - 160

Troops:

3x Jetbikes - 51
3x Jetbikes - 51

Heavy:

Waithknight - 240

Total: 1748/1750

How does it look?

Also, In case I would love to use some Incubi (which are the best minis of the whole 40k IMHO), I would drop a Wyches squad (or something else if better as for example a warrior squad to reuse the Raider) and perhaps the Archon for a 5-7 squad with 2 'munculuses in a Raider with the AS, FF, NS.) Sounds yay or nay?

Cheers!
