I can't really say I have one since I've only read up to Descent of Angels (6th book.)
I'm just curious to know what other fans think. With all the books published there's gotta be at least one that is the odd man out.

Battle for the Abyss. Cardboard characters, barely coherent plot, largely irrelevant to the grand scheme of the heresy. The only thing I remotely liked is the loyalists from traitor legions.
The two dark angel books are pretty forgettable.

Descent of Angels actually is one of the worst I've read (IMO ofc). The second DA book rectifies this a little but it's still quite bad. The others I've enjoyed to varying degrees (Legion #1 for me) but I've only read up till Fear to Tread.

I have to agree. The first one is a terrible, incomplete, mess. I enjoyed the second one more, but probably because my expectations were so low. You can completely skip Descent of Angels, so at least that one redeeming factor.

BftA is, without a doubt, the worst novel in the series and summed up more or less effectively above. I imagine if that happened to be the first one you read, you'd never read another one, just assuming the rest were just as awful.

A lot of people will probably disagree with me but I'd have to say Legion. Then again, I've only read up to that book so far.

Only one I haven't liked is Nemesis. I've tried to read it multiple times now and I just can't generate a single bit of interest in the characters or the story...

Being the last one I read, Descent of Angels did feel out of place for me. I think maybe it's because it was less of a Heresy book and more of a background book. Granted, the concepts of the Dark Angels and some of the back story is interesting, I felt this book was quite lacking in comparison with the rest.
