Yeah, Soul Blaze isn't the best to invest in (would be so much better if Tzeentch's banner would give Inferno Bolts) and I would say, unless you're a sneakiest (like myself) then pass and take the Icon of Vengeance for Fearless.

Really, with all of the facets available to Chaos, they are kind of designed with the idea that while you're tracking your roster, your opponent likely isn't and may forget that the Challenge he just accepted is with a Sergeant that just got Instant Death of the Chaos Boon Table.

And that's where I'm at with Soul Blaze. If you can keep up with all of the little in's and out's that give Chaos a fighting chance, then utilize it and make your opponent bleed slow.

I know a lot of people don't like those sneakeries like Chaos Boon Table or what not, but those things can give a Chaos Army just enough of an edge to totally turn the tables on an opponent. I roll CONSTANTLY for my G.o.M.'s and such, damn the consequences.

Yeah, Red is right. You have to make sure you take advantage of every little perk you can get. I feel that the banner should have allowed re-rolling failed Invuln saves, then the 6++ will not feel totally wasted. Anything besides Soul Blaze really. Because on a bike unit your going to shoot and then charge the unit you may have just put Soul Blaze on, so the point is moot... they are probably dead before it even goes off.

I love Chaos and align to them naturally, but lawd was I disappointed with their overall. Now that I get a feel for all the sneakery that they have, however, oh yeah. I'm like a rules lawyer when it comes to managing my army.

"Yeah that unit got multi-boon. Oh that guy has a 2+ armor sv now. And that guy? BS+1. Sure this is all confusing to you! ...as it should be." XD

I've had instances where I managed my army well enough that the guy kept picking fights with the wrong champs. Like a Nid player throws his squishies at my cultists, but then my Dark Apostle leading them has Fleshbane. lol Or where a GK player thought he was going to roll over a Marine squad, and then realized that their Champ had Fleshmetal.

If it's confusing for me, it's going to be confusing for my opponent and to me, this is a level of forcing the enemy into mistakes.

Chaos vehicle options are tits. I hope it's one of those things the loyalists don't get (like Dirge Casters). Also, I'll have to check my book again, but Doom Sirens on vehicles? :O That's just evil. XD I'm sure it's not, but still worth the look.

I was wondering about the combi-weaps for Chaos Vehicles though, and why more CSM players didn't think to put a Flamer or Melta on their rhinos and then crash them into enemy infantry and vehicles. Could you imagine a Rhino putting a melta-shot into a Land Raider and causing it to pop? I'd cry blood if that happened to me. lol

The CSM book does have some nice gems in there.

First is Abbadon. He is hands down the nastiest IC in the game and can beat the pants off nearly any other IC out there. He does not care that a chapter master on a bike has a power fist and EW shield -- Abbadon will still take his lunch money. Unless its a swarm lord, greater deamon, or DP -- Abbadon will be taking them to town.

The trick is how to get Abbadon to the fray? Throwing him in 35 cultists does work to a degree, but some armies just can kill those 35 cultists in a single round of shooting. (6+ wave serpents for example) Another trick is to use land raiders. Given the wave serpent problem, this is where I would be more willing to lean.

There are other deathstars you can use. Spawn + a chaos lord on a bike with a black mace are still solid. I've heard of people making great things happen with their spawn today.
