So, the Lynx, the Cobra, and the two Vampire superheavy flyers can all take Scatter Lasers. It seems Doom of Mymeara was written without the understanding of how kickarse Laser Lock would make these...

If I take a Lynx with Pulsar and Scatter laser I have a 330pt Scorpion...

The Vampire Raiders with twin-linked everything get pretty crazy.

Is this OK, do we think? It's definitely RAW with the 6th ed. codex and rulebook - can you see anyone crying foul?

The real shame (and actually what I thought of first) is that you can't take an SL on a Phantom...

Why wouldn't it work? Complaining about it makes about as much sense as complaining if a tactical squad tries to use its bolters.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

It would be a very amusing attempt at crying foul. "You can't twin-link those weapons! They're already twin-linked!"

The Vampire Hunter already has all its non-Scatter Laser weapons twin-linked. The Raider might see some, but only if it takes the Pulsar laser upgrade, since it's pulse lasers/missile options are already twin-linked themselves. The Lynx with a scatter laser is a ludicrously good steal compared to a Scorpion. I was hoping to see in the new Apocalypse book, a bump to the Scorpion to justify its higher cost. It does have more HP... and that's it. Ah well.

Honestly, I would have liked to see more options for the Vampires - if only swapping the scatter laser for a pulse laser, starcannon, etc.

Well, there's still a hull point difference.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

6 on the Lynx, 9 on the Scorpion, for 180pts. Scorpion is 12/12/11 as well, whereas the Lynx is 12/12/10. Since the Scorp is already Twin Linked, you can take a better weapon than the scatter laser... And the gun is turret not hull mounted, so you can be more tactical with your facings...

Plus the Scorpion looks totally badass (although I do love the Lynx...)

They should have made the Scorpion Heavy 4 - TL blast is kinda gakky. Even before Laser Lock it was a difficult argument to make to pick it over the Lynx... They should have more secondary weapons - Imperial tanks are literally bristling with guns all over them - the most powerful tank the Eldar have ever made has 3...

The Tempest has eight. Sure, six of those are shuriken catapults, and they pretend the Tempest doesn't exist anymore, but "ever" isn't technically correct.

The Lynx also saw an Increase in points in the most recent publication of it's rules(IA Apoc 2013); it is now a 430 point Scorpian with less Fron/Side armour and less hull points.

So 230 points(for both having a scatter laser and effective T-L Pulsar) gives you Heavy bolter immunity on Front and side, and an entire Tanks-worth of Hull points

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

I think there's a typo in there somewhere.

Not according to Forgeworld's lack of FAQ/Errata.

Yes the Book Says 420 for the Lynx.

420 for the Lynx, an additional 230 points to get to 650 for the Scorpion.
