New kickstarter project from a Canadian company: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/458846070/labyrinths-customized-modular-dungeon-terrain

Similar in scope to Dwarven Forge, Itar's Workshop, etc.

Interesting.

I'm afraid my heart is dedicated to Dwarven Forge and their next endeavor, but as a fellow Canadian, I'll likely keep an eye on this one all the same.

Just hit 10k.
Three days in and we have just reached our Third Stretch Goal. This is starting to become a trend.

The Columns Add-On pack is now available. Like all Stretch Goal Add-On packs it is priced at $35. To have it professionally hand painted add another $35. To pledge for these, simply over pledge by the appropriate amount on any pledge level that allows Add-On packs (See pledge levels for details and shipping costs). At the end of the Kickstarter you will decide which Add-On packs you wish to receive from all that have been unlocked.

We have added Free Stretch Goal pieces to all of the existing kits. If you have pledged for one or more of these kits, you will receive the appropriate pieces for each kit you pledged for.
The Fieldstone Dungeon Core Kit adds 2 pieces of curved wall and the appropriate tiles.
The Dungeon Accessory Add-On adds a pit trap tile.
The Cavern Core Kit adds 3 pc (8 square inches) of rock piles.
The Cavern Accessories Add-On adds a well.
The Wall Expansion Add-On adds 2 pieces of curved wall and the appropriate tiles.
The Doors & Portals Add-On adds a modular doorway with interchangeable false wall, steel door, and barred door.

The issue is... I can get Hirst tiles for cheaper. Or just buy the hirst molds and make my own.

The dwarven forge had a unique value which this doesn't.

I would have done that 'seconds' boxed set. But otherwise I can paint my own tiles and get hirst models elsewhere for cheaper. Also... 'dyed stone = heeeeeeeeeeeeavy!'

Unless they beat the current deals on eBay for Hirst resellers... they get a frownie face :(

For Canucks they beat the ebay resellers hands down because of shipping costs and import fees. Same reason I had to skip out on adding to my dwarven forge collection. The USPS price increase over the past few years have made shipping anything that heavy from the US a non-starter.

The economics for an american purchaser may be different.

Good point. This may be great for Canadians due to shipping issues. I may have to do the raw math for this vs the current hirst resellers.

Why is every pledge level limited?

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

I think it's so they can stagger delivery

presumably once one fills up another with a later slot will appear

Rolling on to 12.5K

Here is what just became unlocked at this Stretch Goal:

The Big Caverns Add-On pack is now available. Like all Stretch Goal Add-On packs it is priced at $35. To have it professionally hand painted add another $35. To pledge for these, simply over pledge by the appropriate amount on any pledge level that allows Add-On packs (See pledge levels for details and shipping costs). We have added Free Stretch Goal pieces to all of the existing kits. If you have pledged for one or more of these kits, you will receive the appropriate pieces for each kit you pledged for.
The Fieldstone Dungeon Core Kit adds a 2x2 and a 3x3 Etched Gothic Tile.
The Dungeon Accessory Add-On adds a large wooden throne.
The Cavern Core Kit adds 8 pc of stalactites.
The Cavern Accessories Add-On adds a Giants Throne.
The Wall Expansion Add-On adds 2 pieces of 3" wall with inset alcoves.
The Doors & Portals Add-On adds a second modular doorway with interchangeable false wall, steel door, and barred door.
The Columns Add-On adds 4 pieces of wide columns.

$1,000,000 and a 50% discount

Might end up picking up 3 cavern sets. However as usual the shipping is prohibitive outside of the states.

It's $240 w/ shipping not including any add-ons (which themselves are $55 per pack w/ shipping). That said this is a very short-notice campaign with nearly immediate production which can arrive possibly at the same time if not before Itar's workshop.

So looking at the cost per set we get he following efficiencies for overseas backers:

1 Set @ $55 + $40[s] = $95.00/set
2 Sets @ $110 + $60[s] = $85.00/set
3 Sets @ $160 + $80[s] = $80.00/set
5 Sets @ $250 + $120[s] = $74.00/set
10 Sets @ $475 + $240[s] = $71.50/set

ADD-ONS: 1 pack @ $35 + $20[s] = $55/pack

Though I know international shipping can be apprehensive from Canada, subsidising free shipping for locals does feel like a bit of a kick in the nuts when you're shilling out a possible $240 for postage and handing alone.

EDIT: Oh...that's only for England, Scotland, Sweden, Iceland, and Greenland...and in anticipation of the shipping rates to Australia: http://youtu.be/Mbg1nEXQ1fI?t=39s

You can estimate shipping here: https://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/far/personal/findARate

But yeah, Canada Post isn't great at shipping internationally.

$1,000,000 and a 50% discount

Okay, got a message back from the creators for postage to Australia:

1 Set = $100 postage
3 Sets = $120 postage
5 Sets = $175 postage
10 Sets = $350 postage (must be sent in two different packages)

Add-ons and Core Kits = additional $25 per kit.

while im ok with handling delivery this way my problem is when I have to scroll for days trying to find something I can pledge for. More of a knock on the KS system though.

Yeah it should allow creators to re-order the pledges as levels fill up. You think that would be an easy fix.

An easy Ctrl+F for Hirst would have answered that for you:

We are licensed through Hirst Arts to use their basic components, with the remainder sculpted in-house. We have kept the pieces generally compatible with other popular systems, and can provide transition pieces on request for systems that are similar in scale.

Yeah, Bruce Hirst has a number of licensees who sell pre-cast terrain.

Kickstarter's made it a lot more visible (and probably dropped the price), but Hirst Arts resellers have been around pretty much as long as Hirst Arts have.

We have reached Stretch Goal #10: $35k!

Thank you for your continued support of our project.

4 pc of Rubble Piles have been added FREE to the Ruins Add-On Kit and included in the Custom Add-On Kit . Their points cost is 7 per pair. Two of the ruin piles are shown with the Grass Detail Option.

A Mushroom Detail Option has been added for painted kits. For those having their kits painted, they can choose to have a variety of painted mushrooms added to their pieces as one of their 3 Detail Options. We would like to note, that these pieces are pinned in place, not simply glued, but will need more care than a typical game piece.

As soon as my kid is old enough, and I live somewhere with a garage / balcony, I'm breaking out my molds and building some castles. For now though, a reseller with canadian shipping is awesome. I kept looking at ebay and balking at the international shipping rates.
