'lo thar
I was just reading through the daemons codex about all the different realms of chaos and thought that it would be great if there were a book/s on them as I think that they would be great to read about, especially tzeentch's labyrinth.
I was just wondering about what other people thought would make a good book from the 40k universe, perhaps something from the codex or just something .
Anyway, just wondering what you guys think

I'd love to see more Orky stuff, that really goes in-depth on their hierarchal structure and how they operate. Too much of their fluff is just based on yelling and screaming I'd love to see a outsider's critical notes on what they do and the inner workings.

The SoB, of course. I'd say that of all armies, their fluff is probably most in need of fleshing out. There's a lot that needs filling in and clarifying. Their (studio) fluff hasn't really had much expansion since 2e, with subsequent codexes being either shared with another faction ( WH, which was recently retconned anyway), quite limited in terms of fluff (the WD codex) and then mostly recycled (the current digital 'dex). So some more exploration, that actually sticks to the codex fluff, would be great.
Another benefit of this would be to help publicise their portrayal in the studio fluff some more, which the best portrayal of them, IMO. A lot of fans, and even some third-party contributors, don't really understand the Sisters so well, and as a result have some odd ideas about them. And, of course, just publicising them in general. The Orders Militant could always use some good PR.

Well I do remember reading that there's a picture of an Ork being dissected and analysed by the Imperium, somewhere out there. Though that may not have been what you meant by "the inner workings".

This kind of stuff is what makes me wonder why I play 40k at all. So much of the fluff turns my stomach to the point where I get nauseous and light-headed.
That thread asking for details of what the Imperium's enemies would do with captured Sisters of Battle was particularly bad. It's always worse when the victims are female.

I could honestly see anything that is not Space Marines get more. I love me some Mahreens, but it is getting a bit over the top at this point.

Nah, that's just disparity in gender perception; things that get done to women are still viewed as inherently more evil than what's done to men (also the polarising effect of sex).
Back on topic:

My favourite dudettes aside, Malice would also be interesting to hear more about. The Chaos god of Chaos fighting against itself sounds like an interesting character. Would be even more confusing than Tzeentch,

I think it's better to think of the Sisters as zealot-soldiers before women. That's what they're defined by.

There are some important Chapters that could do with a bit more fleshing out, like the White Scars or Raven Guard, but indeed, pretty much all other factions are in even more need.
We really need some good books on the Orks. Orks are awesome. A book about the Orks could also be awesome
More books on the Dark Eldar or the Tau would also be nice.

Guys, I have the perfect faction for this. The Administratum. There could be a whole book about a lone paper-pusher heroically scribbling their way through the Imperium's nightmarish bureaucracy to ensure its continued running, only to stumble upon a set of clerical errors which threaten the Imperium's very existence. Forgot bolter porn, ink and quill porn would become the new standard.

They would consult the chapter "emperor's library card" who would search the galaxy along with the Salamanders looking for the lost Simon Cowell autobiography that Vulkan needs to be returned before he can once again borrow in the imperium libraries, as a society where he cannot rent a scratched copy of harry potter and the goblet of fire is one that he could never come back to.

My list of stuff i'd like to see more on:
The Fallen
Dark Angels in general
Moar Tau (though the farsight enclave is quite nice)
Other Inquisitorial ordos than the big three (particularly Ordo Chronos)
I'd like to see different IG flavors fleshed out into the game, rather than just being 90% cadia.
Probably not going to happen this last one, but i'd love more info on the 2 unknown legions / primarchs.

I agree with Haight;
Would love a fallen's perspective novel - but guess the hh will head down that road more and more?
Then more guard - big three we have seen so far; Gaunt's Ghost - epic but very niche. Valhallens in Cain - cool but not what the books were focused on. Cadians in pretty much everything else - standard but come on!
The single novel's they did for the big regiments ranged from dire to epic but were very much stand alones. Would be great to see more authors picking up their own guard regiments and seeing where they can take them.

On this I'd like to see this written in the form of a diary of a Callidus assassin who takes the form of an orc, who has been tasked with dealing grievous wounds to a whole clan on his own. He does this by identifying who is the warboss, assassinating him, laying low during the ensuring power struggle, manipulating various clans to get the most inept leaders in charge allowing for an easier victory when the Imperial fleet approaches.
However an intelligent Mad Dok discovers his identity, but wants nothing to do with his clan, as the clan he is a part of does not let him do his experiments as they see it as being cowardly and weak, so he promises to aid the assassin if he can get him off the planet.

I like the idea of the first bit and most of the second but I think that it would fit better if the assassin was going to be discovered he just killed the Dok. Remember that assassins are REALLY smart cookies and would not be manipulated easily at all, let alone discovered.

I want to know how Ork Empires manage to exist and not fall into infighting as Orks are known to do. Such as a story on how the Arch Arsonist of Charadon keeps his boyz inline with his wishes in such a huge area of space. He can't be everywhere at once to personally keep his boyz from muckin about.

Something detailing an out of the way sector. Don't care which one, don't care where it is, just something breathing life into a hitherto unknown chunk of the Imperium. The various 40k RPGs have done a fantastic job painting a picture of the Calixis Sector and the areas connected to it - it'd be really neat to get the same sort of rundown of planets and personalities and so forth from another part of the galaxy.

We have a third. The motion carries.
In addition to something that is actually from an orky point of view (rather than that piece of drivel published in Fear the Alien which was touted as being the 'first ever ork POV story!' but only featured a single line of orky dialogue) I would love to see a story from a Dark Eldar's POV.

There is a short story, called "The Beast Within" about a Callidus Assassin infiltrating a Genestealer Cult. Worth a read for £1.50 from the BL website.
There's a Dark Eldar PoV book out - Path of the Renegade or something like that.
Actually, here's a book I'd like to read: "The Fall of Graia". The story of just how a pathetic Ork half-waagh managed to take out an entire Forge World's worth of Skitarii in a few weeks... because that must be a truly awesome story.

The "pathetic half-waagh" was just the remnants of fighting the Forge World's defences - not the original condition of the Waaagh.
