110 Runepriest (chooser)(divination)

TROOPS

190 10 x GreyHunters (meltagun,plasmagun,DropPod)

190 10 x GreyHunters (meltagun,plasmagun,DropPod)

150 5 x GreyHunters (flamer,TL-Las razorback)

150 5 x GreyHunters (flamer,TL-Las razorback)

Fast Attack

72 9 x fenrisian wolves

Heavy Support

205 6 x Longfangs (3xML,2xLC,Pod)

170 6 x Longfangs (3xML,2xLC)

Tactics

Lord goes with fenrisian wolves using them as wounds with the 2+ look out sir for ap1,2 shots and runic armor absorbs the rest. 2 pods come down first turn, i used melta plasma because i think is better than dual plasma or dual melta gives you more versality. Longfangs hide in terrain along with rune priest an divination. The 2 razorbacks provide support with las cannons and are there for late game objective capturing. CC anyone?

Hey Lonewolf.

When I see split special weapons in Grey Hunter squads it makes me wonder why. I play a five drop pod list right now with 2 x 10 GH - Plas and 2 x 10 GH - Melta and I used them for very specific purposes and I feel, with every confidence, that focusing the weapon choice in the unit, 2 Plas, 2 Melta, 2 Flamer versus Plas/Flame, etc. is absolutely ideal.

To put it in terms of dice - you have a much better chance of rolling hits/wounds with 2 dice than you do with 1.

I'm assuming the extra Pod on the Longfangs is a Confetti pod for LoS blocking and general tom-foolery.

And I can't really recall the last time I saw Fenrisian Wolves be effective in any way other than just disappearing to everything that looks at them, at 260 points, TH/SS, etc, I feel you'd be better off taking Canis Wolfborn and giving them a fighting chance at not losing half the unit and watching the whole unit, Wolflord included, run away.

Razorbacks are awesome.

I don't know why you took the Chooser when the Rune Priest doesn't seem to be there for anything other than Prescience. I only take Chooser when I'm going to need my RP to sit on my Quadgun and take awesome BS5 shots at things.

Besides that, looks okay. I could see playing it and doing well enough with it. But if I had wrote a list like this, I definitely would go with double special weapons, instead of watering the unit down.

Hey guys, thnx for feedback

@ Notbriang

I used the chooser of the slain cause i faced vindicare who tried to bust my lords inv save, so with chooser he cant use infiltrate to get to 36" and if he deploys back and moves he fires snap shots so he s pretty much fooked for 10 points

As for mixed weapons in my local meta there arent many heavy on vehicles lists, and the ones that are, lets say IG, they blob the vehicles so the melta wont reach them first turn so i find it better to have a bit of melta and plasma in its squad.

As fo the lord and the F.wolves, They are a mini death star, The wolves use the leadership of the lord, and provide wounds for his Look out sir ap1,2 wounds at him, they wont run off the board (unless i roll 11 or 12, but ill be away from board edge and this is a very rear possibility) and they are there for distraction and the lord can take huge amounts of punishment away from my other units keeping my opponent worried if he is not shot he ll make a mess in close combat.

@Leon, I wanna keep my GH cheep, cause they gonna get shot alot when they arrive so no extra upgrades, as for the pod in long fangs, is necessary for the other 2 to arrive turn one like Notbriang said. Lascanons are very useful , cause if you face lets say a nemesis DK he doesnt care if you have only missiles but if there is a las canon in there he thinks twice to let your LF survive.

I edited the list and instead of the RP i took 1 ordo xenos inq with divination and one with divination and 3 servo skulls for total of 119 points (i removed a las cannon from LF and added one more F.wolf). So i loose the 4+psychic deny and chooser and now i have first turn infiltration defense with servo skulls (also more accurate frag blasts and deep strike) and 2 twin linked LF squads so the list looks like this

HQ

260 Wolflord (RA/TH/SS/SOB,TWM)

64 Ordo xenos inq. psycker lvl 1 (divination), (3 servo skulls)

55 Ordo xenos inq. psycker lvl 1 (divination)

TROOPS

190 10 x GreyHunters (meltagun,plasmagun,DropPod)

190 10 x GreyHunters (meltagun,plasmagun,DropPod)

150 5 x GreyHunters (flamer,TL-Las razorback)

150 5 x GreyHunters (flamer,TL-Las razorback)

Fast Attack

80 10 x fenrisian wolves

Heavy Support

205 6 x Longfangs (3xML,2xLC,Pod)

155 6 x Longfangs (4xML,1xLC)

5 TL las, 7 TL missiles, 4 troops and a close combat monster with 6 S10 attacks and 2+/3++ coming towards you with GH distractions all over the place.Pretty Scary, what do you think?

see if you cant find room to put the banner's in. Re rolling Gets Hot! during a crucial turn or just any 1s in general makes a big difference to me.

I like the melta plasma split up, it gives you a good amount of diversity in your squads while firing, and if you have to assault with em, you can still make use of the meltas, for the point cost on GH the melta/PG is a good mix for its punch (infantry and vehicle alike)

I always feel weird taking Wolf Lords over wolf Priests (I do wana build a Morkai WL tho) the WP gives off Preffered Enemy and a few other tasy buffs while being not garbage in combat for a big point difference. I havent peeked at my books in a few weeks but I feel like I usually run

155 (I think like I said its been a bit) WP: RA, PP, Saga of the Hunter

You can pop him onto a GH squad and let them use Preffered enemy (and have them move up a bit with outflank and scout rules from hunter) to help keep things from getting so hot, and those unsavory whooshes your chainswords make when in CC.

As well as the Saga of the Hunter adding a +1 to what ever cover save they may take including always giving them a 6+ even if in open ground.

the LF are solid tho you are missing the LF seargent loadout (unless they are thrown in there, I usually keep em seperated)

My army has 3 basic principles as i see it.
1. TL heavy support which is also great against flyer thnx to cheap inquisitors. For 55 points divination is awesome.
2. 4 troop choices at 1500 with great mobility and some extra ap1,2 weapons enough for objectives and harassment
3. A Wolf Fear Factor capable of doing lots of damage to expensive units if not shot with many guns (and if i have an average save roll he ll cause havoc at cc)

for 1500 points i find it pretty aggressive list. With the new inquisition codex longfangs have taken a huge boost back to tabletop (who needs flakk really)

I ll hopefully playtest it tonight

The first rule in taking droppods is making sure you have an uneven amount. If the OP does as you suggest, then only one pod will drop on turn one and that squad will be very vulnerable. The other squad will then come in alone as well.

I'm sorry, that's just plain horrible advice!

*EDIT*: I just saw that point has been made by previous posters

@lonewolf81: I like your first list. I think it will be fun to play and it can still pack a punch. Keep the LC on your fangs and split fire with them it will help with the AV13/14 tanks you are bound to run into and the range on the meltas just aren't good enough to be banked on.

One thing to think about though, I would look if I can squeeze a RP in to take with your pods. ATM Jaws is the strongest counter we have against Tau and Necron uber units (read Riptides and Necron lords). Of course if you never face them then that point is moot.
