I have read the posts regarding a Cryptek with a Veil of Darkness not able to attach to a C'Tan Shardand deep strike as needed. However; as I read the rules a Overlord with a Royal Court (Cryptek with a Veil of Darkness) can attach to a Necron Troop Squad, then use the VOD to deep strike with the overlard and troop squad as needed. The question is can the Overlord with a Royal Court attach to a C'Tan Shard and deepstrike as needed? Anyone find a fault with any of my logic/reading of the rules?

C'tan shards do not have the IC rule, and are units that always consist of a single model.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

You cannot attach an Overlord with a Royal Court to any unit - the Overlord is an IC but the RC isn't. You can only "move" RC members to the units specified in the rules.
The C'Tan is not an IC and cannot be joined by ICs.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks I have to depend on Monoliths and Night Scythes to get my troops close to my opponents Tanks. Anyone know a good way to get C'tan Shards in a opponents deployment zone quick (without moving/running from my deployment zone)?

Monolith gate. Deep strike then port the Shard over.

It still can't charge the turn that all this happens though, because even though the C'Tan hasn't deep struck (if that's the correct tense) it still has to disembark from a vehicle not designated a combat vehicle and therefor still can't charge. So you still have a combat oriented high cost (prob 250 points) unit that can't charge anything till turn three...

That is the c'tan's fatal flaw, always has been. (that they've had to plod across the board at 6" + run per turn)
Your monolith-gate is the only way to circumvent this, and even then doesn't get the c'tan into assault until the turn after as noted. It can still shoot though. (if you grabbed a shooting power anyway)

Never though of using the Monolith to move the Ctan. I got some fat to chew on. Thanks all.

Not to hijack the thread too much......
The monolith portal must be used before it moves in the movement phase. Therefore the Ctan coudnt teleport through until the turn after the monolith arrived. It could then assault the turn after that. So really not much different then just walking across the board with the exception of Hammer and Anvil deployment.

Wrong. The necron FAQ states that the gate can be used the same turn that the Monolith deep strikes in.
