So i just discovered that my wife has purchased me a eldar ghost warriors box and im not really on the up and up with eldar. So i was just wondering what other models i would need to acquire to field a decent army.

I didnt look on purpose, i checked my online banking while she was out and seen a charge go through for 220 and i didnt recognize it. When questioning her she folded. But i was proud cause she got it for a good deal. But to the question of filling out the list, so would 3 wave serpents plus a spiritseer be all i need or what? One of my friends kept going on and on about warp spiders. Would they fit in this kind of build?

With that kit 3 Wave Serpents 2-3 Spiritseers and 15 warp spiders make a tits list probably get the Iyanden supplement.
Bare bone list mind you. No upgrades or wargear here
SS 210
WG 480
WS 360
WSpiders 285
WL 240
WK 240
These are roughly the points cost you'd have before kitting stuff out. Like the MC and the Serpents. Not going to win any tourneys but for fun games this is a good time list. I run BielTan eldar but I'd love to play a wraithlist.

Would i need any other troops for capturing objectives or would 3 units of 5 wg be sufficient?

That's a good point. Getting 3 boxes of Windrider Jetbikes is a good call. Only run you around a 100-120 American. It would give you 9 JB troops. That you could use in a variety of ways.
always reserve them though in your army. You can use them in squadsas small as 3 or as big as 9. Would be perfect.
WRJB 153 before Shuriken Cannon upgrades which you could get as many as 3 of.

What the guy at my flgs does is run the wg down the middle of the board to present a constant threat then has his wl in the backfield doing anti tank and what not while his wk acts as a giant bullet sponge to get his other troops and ws into position

That's very true. The Wraithstuff all draws alot of fire. Then the jet bike come on and sweep up objectives.
That's a damn nice box set. She got it like 50 off retail if she got it for 220. Give you almost a 1000 points before kitting out the units.

See if you can pick up the Iyanden Supplement. It will contribute a great deal to an Iyanden themed list.

Would it be too much to run an avatar in this type of list? I just love the model

He doesn't add alot to this list. He is fearless but so is your army. He has some cool stuff but he doesn't really jive with what Iyanden armies do. That being said its your party run a avatar if you want. ;-)

He just seems like one big beefy arse kicker. What about prince whats his name? The pirate dude that saves the day. Isnt he the iyanden special charecter. Ive read his codex entry and he just doesnt seem that good.

Most of the special characters are Outshined by generic HQ choices.

Yriel is the Autarch for Iyanden though.

Prince Yriel would be an awesome SUPER fluffy choice, but you will probably struggle to find any good tactical use for him. Great model though!

Cant you make a wl an hq choice with the Iyanden supplement?

No, you can make either a wraithlord or wraithknight your warlord, but not an HQ choice. You can, however, take up to 5 spiritseers in each HQ slot.

Yriel is beyond terrible. Cool fluff. Zero actual game purpose. I don't know of a way to make him effective.
Yes a WL or WK can be your warlord but not a HQ slot.
You should probably buy the book it is great for wraith armies. The SS primaris in the book is amazing. It gives battle focus to wraith units.

From what ive gathered lurking on the internet that seems to be the general opinion on them. Are there any other fluffy options for the fa slot to fit the Iyanden theme?

IF you can cause a lot of certain leadership rolls, Hemlocks can be useful.
I guess that they'll be good against Chaos, as it can strip off Fearless.

Thinking about it, WK and WL cause fear, so getting rid of Fearless is more useful than I thought.

Also, Hemlocks are much faster than most Wraith units, so can take out stuff out of their range/LoS.
