Yeh I'd stick with the rune priest for that psychic save against elders n stuff, but since your packing so much firepower and tanks Bjorn's 75% chance of first turn is also very good..

Can't work out how this is mechguard without a single chimera? All your infantry are either footslogging or blobs?

Tbh it's more of a tank and infantry spam list
All the troops crept the gh and veterans (in vendettas) are footslogging

Whenever you use a warhammer 40k army for a game you must declare 1 model as your warlord. This is usually the model with the highest ld value, if their are ties then you choose. But a warlord must be from the primary detachment, not a allied one. So in Bjorns case he would need to lead the primary detachment in order for his abilities to work.

Bjorn lets you re-roll to go first regardless if he is your warlord or not. In fact, none of his special rules require him to be the warlord.
I like the list. I'm not sure why you have veterans over Special Weapon Squads, though. BS4 is neat but you don't need to pay for those extra bodies. I assume the Veterans ride in the Vendettas? If so, I would consider exchanging them for Special Weapon Squads loaded up with Demo Charges. You will save points and their damage output will be dramatically increased for a turn. The Veterans likely won't last past a single turn anyway.

The veterans go in the vendettas. Swapping them for a special weapon squad might be good, but I use the veteran squad primarily to contest objectives and stuff, because all my other units are footslogging

Special Weapon Squads can contest just as well. There isn't much difference in terms of survivability between 10 GEQ and 6 GEQ. The difference in damage output is huge, though.
