If I have two leman russ in a squad can I drive them back to back (to hide rear armor) or is there some rule I missed about driving backwards?

Surely you would be wasting half your firepower? Why not just drive a cheap chimera behind them to prevent any rear shots?

I've driven a chimera behind them for just that reason before. Gotta say it does the trick.

If you're using an ordnance LR just turn the turret and you aren't wasting anything

True, some players would check to see los in case the turret of the forward facing one blocked it to prevent you from firing it at cetain targets (if it is non-ord and prevent you from subtracting bs on a non-hit for orb shots.

Ordnance cannot fire indirectly unless it is also Barrage.
You cannot completely block the rear armor facing - you can just give yourself a really good cover save.

Yeah that was the plan, using 2 regular LRs. I could park them at a slight angle from the target and aim the battle cannons so they aren't getting blocked if needed.

do keep in mind of the 1" apart rule so it will be difficult but still possible to shoot the rear armour, also it won't save you from an assault

That way,then left

The 1" apart rule? that's between enemy units, only WHFB has it for both friendly and enemy units

Which 1" apart rule? Friendly models can be in base to base

And squad mates dont block their los, they can shoot through each other.
