So i need some help i wanna run Chaos Daemons for a up comming escalation league next week but i need a solid take all comers list for 1000pts and im not sure what to do as ive never played less then 1850pts before and am new. Mono Tzeentch would be cool but not a must. I was thinking something like this but dunno how well it would work

You are coming in at 910 points there at the moment, with a maxed DP and a base herald with book.

One piece of advice I would certainly give is to consider taking 11 horrors per squad instead of 10. For 9 more points you potentially get another d6 shots of shooting, until the squad takes a wound.

As for the list overall....difficult to say. It is of course very light on scoring options, so this could be a problem. Sometimes I would keep my troops in reserve to attempt to keep them alive for longer, however you need at least 1 squad starting on the ground to babysit the herald, so you could only do this with one squad.

im open to diffrent ideas i just am new and not sure what would be a good list vs all comers at 1k pts

depending on meta/usual terrain density you might want to take aegis defence line since your horrors can go to ground for a re-rollable 2+ cover save.

I would consider a slaanesh daemon prince for whip + portaglyph + psychic scream instead of the heavy one. if you can kill off all the troops without ever having to land then you are sorted. you could maybe squeeze in a budget keeper of secrets (maybe carrying book even).

So you can get fateweaver, slaanesh dp with wings and pa and lvl1 psyker and 1 greater, 1 exhaulted + 2x horrors +kos with 1 exhaulted. you can then either buy 1psyker on the prince or a greater reward for kos. id probably put book on prince and portal on kos to get good early game target saturation (3++ kos and portal and 2 fliers). if there is good LOS blocking terrain the dp could carry glyph for late gamedrop.

If you wish to make a list similar to your first post, then possibly go for something like this:

Daemon prince - Tzeentch, 1 greater, 1 book, Lvl 3 Psyker

This would be a good start for a flying circus list.

The most difficult option/question is what kind of DP do you want to run. Slaanesh with the lash tend to be the most efficient for general purpose game play imo.
Nurlge DPs (with Balesword) are great vs MC's like wraith knights and riptides.
Tzeentch DPs are perhaps the best book holder in the codex, and also fit your theme. (They also take up a HS option instead of HQ, so would leave it open for an expansion later).

Khorne dogs are just great, especially if supported with the book. Although I know they don't match your tzeentch theme.

honestly the theme doesnt matter much its just what i have right now is lots of pink horrors screamers 3x dps nos so i can do w.e i want with them fateweaver a few heralds and thats about it if i need to get more i can i just need to have an idea what im doing.

Are you required to keep the units you play @ 1k as you rise to 1850? Makes it a bit more complicated early on if you do.

If your allowed to change your list as you grow..... might want to consider Screamerstar @ 1k

it looks like its relaxed so list can change week to week long as its the same army.

Meh screamerstar isn't massively great for me, I haven't seen much from them. All a canny opponent needs to do is target the grimoire bearer and eventually he will fail a LOS. That being said it can absolutely crush unprepared opponents and certainly isn't a bad choice.

Usually the carrier is in the middle of the squad which makes it pretty difficult to focus fire and still virtually impossible to shoot your way through the buffer zone of models. That is unless you have a couple of manticores or thunderfire cannons. I find it so funny how the best tools for picking out a key enemy character and leaving the rest untouched are the vindicate assasin followed by the second best sniper in the galaxy: the blind fire multiple re-entry ballistic missile launcher.
