I need some advice on my first attempt at a pure grey knight army
Hq – Grandmaster with psicannon, psychotroke, blind grenades
Level 3 librarian with 2 servo skulls and psibolt.

Elites – 1 vindicare. 1 techmarine with force sword, storm bolter, blind, psychotroke and rad grenades, and psibolt

Troops – Terminator squad with 4 demon hammers and one halberd with psibolt.
Nine man strike squad with demon hammer and psibolt

Fast attack- 5 man interceptor squad with an incinerator and 4 halberds

Heavy support – 2 auto cannon dreads with psibolts

And an allied Coteaz with an aegis defence line with the quad gun. All of which comes to 1849. At first glance its blooming small but should be fairly versatile. I’ll get pasted by Taudar but should have fun in the process 

I prefer the warding stave on a techmarine 2+/2++ is just delicious, and grand strategy is just amazing, it makes us marine players very jealous, and i can see it being fun, it's versatile, but you need to do a lot of heavy lifting in this list and you have the upper body strength of a kitten fielding this, but it gets my vote

Raptors (Raven Guard Successor)

Kicking traitor ass since 04

Regularly beat:
Black legion, Farsight enclave, Necrons, Guard and Eldar

One successful trade

You're simply too small on models. I'd start from a less upgraded state honestly, and realize psybolt ammo on a single model is a waste of points.

gm hmmm what it looks like youve built is a draigo wing
why change it lol

gm drop for draigo
termies drop for paladins

fast attack. who needs fast attack!

get a cheap inquisitor with servo skulls

deep strike them pallies everywhere!!!

get the 3rd ac psirifleman

so many hammers are fun. but termies and swords... + to invo save hmmmmmm

Thanks for the replies. I was worried about taking Draigo since he's a lot of points and seems to provide less of a return. Outside of making the paladins troops what benefit is he over a standard GM? I also added the fast attack as a late turn objective hunter. Any more suggestions? How do you field Grey Knights without it being a purely inquisition list?

I don't play GK but on occasion I play against a fluffy list and he does quite well against most opponents.

He uses:

Grand Master- Psycannon, Force Halberd, Rad Grenades
Vindicaire
Ven Dread w/ TLACs and Psybolt Ammo
10man Strike Squad- Psycannon x2, TH x1
10man Strike Squad- Psycannon x2, TH x1
5 Terminators- Halberds, Incinerator thing, TH x1
5 Terminators- Halberds, Incinerator thing, TH x1
Storm Raven
Dreadknight

That's no spam, no special characters, and he is a pleasure to play against.

This is what I would do with your current list.

HQ
-Grandmaster (Psychotroke grenades, Rad Grenades, Force Sword)

-Librarian (2 Servo Skulls)

Elite
-Vindicare Assassin

-Techmarine (Power Axe, Storm Bolter, Orbital Strike)

Troop
-5 Terminators (1 Hammer, 3 Halberds, 1 Sword, 1 Psycannon)

-10 Strikers (Daemonhammer, 2x Psycannons)

Fast
-5 Interceptors (Incinerator)

Heavy
-Dreadnought (2x Autocannon, Psybolt Ammo)

-Dreadnought (2x Autocannon, Psybolt Ammo)

Don't have a book with me but I think I maximized your units and left you around 1839 (based on your previous calculated points)

I wouldn't run the above though, you simply have too many characters. (I'd lose the Libby (the Techmarine could go too), you can't afford to lose the Grandmaster)

You definitely need more boots on the ground.

Yes. Model-count is much more important in 6th for GK.

But fluffy? Well.. They actually LIKE being outnumbered. It makes them seem more.. Is pious the word?

It's fairly fluffy, I mean, purgators need to be in the list to make it feel right...and the vindicare and libby should leave.

There should probably be a malleus Inquisitor.

Oh, and no dreads.

After that it is right on it's way to being fluffy.

So should I drop the libby and techmarine for another strike squad?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Though I must admit I like the idea of the techmarine as a grenade carrier beefing up one of the strike squads. Are 'pure' grey knights feasible anymore or should they be seen as allies for marine detachments?

Pure grey knights are viable, even competitive (just not the way you're running them). As the other posters have said, you'll probably find yourself needing more bodies than you currently have. While the techmarine will buff up the strike squad, look at his cost vs simply getting more shots, attacks, and wounds with more strikes. Same with the librarian, un-upgraded he's worth 7 strikes and a psycannon. GK troops are solid (if expensive), don't be afraid to drop upgrades and specialty items to get more of them.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

So to be competitive do I need to go the henchman route? My inner fluff fiend hates the idea but then again winning a game would be fun

Well you can do both...GKs and malleus are buds.

And GKs use blanks all the time.

Just stay away from DCAs, psykers, daemonhosts.

Things that are very malleus/gk-y are banishers, crusaders, and warriors/"stormtroopers"

Nothing makes a player worry like an all elite army. Since tanks n transports have been hurt in 6th I feel it's the foot sloggers turn.

I run

Draigo

15 pallies with 6 pay cannons

That's my 1250

And it wins lol

34 wounds on 16 models offering only 4 kill points
40 24" shots a turn

Keep 1 sword per squad as point man. 4+ invo save few halberds and a hammer

Grand strategy for scout rule.

I also run a purifier list

Cos I think Crowe is just awesome

I use razor backs for transport n cover them with 3 psirifle dreads

Vindicare assassin for enemy rage factor.

Corteaz well servo skull the field with a 34 point ordos and monkey spam tech marine spam

Clump up on coteaz to stop deep strikers and March on in
